‘Tatted-Up, Foul-Mouthed’ Pastor Takes a Radically Different Approach to Teaching Scripture

Nadia Bolz-Weber‘s blunt preaching style differs greatly from what congregants generally see at traditional Christian churches. The tattooed Lutheran minister who believes in emphasizing “experience over rules” is an emerging star on the Christian left, but she doesn’t appear interested in embracing political labels.

While there is a growing group of believers interested in Bolz-Weber’s message, not everyone will be so enamored. For one, her use of what The Washington Post called a “frequently profane dialect” will certainly turn off more traditional church attendees. Still, she’s piquing the interest of others who are more theologically progressive in nature.

The 44-year-old pastor, profiled by the Post on Sunday, has an intriguing style that’s clearly driving interest in her theology, but it’s her personal story as much as her preaching chops that makes her an intriguing figure in the ...

What else is so amazing is that so few seem to have any fear of God anymore, thinking that He has changed and will accept them as they are, that they will have full control of where their spirits go once their bodys die, or feeling that He has fallen into myth and legend in the new era of man.

You know, I always find it so amazing how people are so comfortable openly defying the God of the universe, the God of all that is, the creator and maintainer of all life, He who can destroy both body and spirit in hellfire. Keeping in mind those who live in and with the world, of course, but especially those who claim to profess Christ, and preach Christ. Those who openly defy Him and spread their virus to any and all who will listen; all in the name of God and from a pulpit or under a faith healing tent. When I see these people, I don't see a Christian with errors they need to iron out, I see fallen angels preaching outrageous lies mixed in with a hint of truth to hold it all together.
I always think to myself that I would be afraid to be struck by a bolt of lightening if I ever chose to openly defy God in the ways that so many openly do these days; while leading so many astray.

If these "pastorette's" are so happy serving in a man's role, then why do most of them have men's haircuts? And if this one sees no harm in women preaching sermons, why does she have tattoo's and language like a sailor? She clearly has an identity crisis and is to be pitied.

Well said! If the root is bad, then the branches are bad and if the branches are bad, they cannot bear Christian fruit. It is a moot point what this lady says; something truthful or something false. She represents a bad branch because she should not be standing where she is standing. She is either in Christ, or she belongs to satan. Now if she belongs to satan, then what possible difference could it make what she/he says. The false prophet will have great powers and will deceive many, but those who belong to our Lord, the elect, will not be deceived.

Someone cannot be a teaching/preaching woman pastor and be in the faith.

Deuteronomy 13:1-4 is a very clear example of how God allows these things to occur.

Their out here . Word Is out but it's not Edwards, Calvin and Knox. Pray for the spirit of these men but never settle for less than God. I have a friend who is out of church because of men like these My editor sat under Reymond, Palmer Robertson. His wife and he are finishing the relent two volume set. I go to church with a man who has a mind to transform American society by ridding is its pagan idolatry. I have books, tracts, a new website designed to restore the first table of the law. Pick up Jonathan Edwards on History of Redemption. I just posted my Nine thesis at a conference and sad told to stop because they thought I was a Jehovah's Witness. Get the new book by your godly brother Scott Bfown who I gave my new book to . Give me your email and I will send you my tract and email address I interested. The reformation is on give me America of I die. If you think I am lying the two most godly men I believe living today Fr. Joel Beeke an. Scott Brown have my book on worship. It is 312 pages that Reg at Stillwater is going to help me market though I'm trying to publish it with my favorite pastor an author Dr. Beeke. I had the opportunity to spend a month with them they are a blessed school.

The church I belong to had been part of the apostate UCC (same denomination that produced Barak Obama) for fifty years and did not know how far from Scripture they had strayed. But once they found out, they left the denomination (2005) and are returning to Scripture and their Reformation roots.

Why does SermonAudio feel the need to promote this woman to its audience ?
I think the editor of the news section should be asked why we need to know about this woman ? What good has this article done for us. Do we need to know about every heretic out there ? must we give them our attention ? is that not what they are seeking ?
Does SermonAudio care ?
I dont know how it is in Scotland, but we really have a 'rainbow' of liberal Churches. Those churches are in almost every city now side by side with conservative ones. Often we share charity projects, like this month the community food pantry. I think knowing what some Synods will tolerate might be helpful for Conservative Pastors here protecting their sheep.

Some folks in small town and rural America belong to historic churches that have united with apostate denominations (ex. UCC) and they aren't completely aware of how reprobate they've become (ex. frog in boiling water). So, while some of us are aware of who the apostates are, others need to be warned. SA isn't into sensationalism or publicity for reprobates, but they do provide this news service to keep us, their community of readers, informed. In conclusion: If you don't like an article posted - don't read it.
