Washington Cathedral: 'Church Of Anything Goes'

At the Washington National Cathedral, Rev. Gary Hall announced last Sunday that he had discovered a sin unknown to hundreds of churchmen before him. ‘We must now have the courage to … call homophobia and heterosexism what they are,’ he said. ‘They are sins. Homophobia is a sin. Heterosexism is a sin. Shaming people for whom they love is a sin.’

“Mr. Hall, dean of Washington’s most prominent Episcopal church, criticized the role that some churches have played in oppressing young lesbians, gays, bisexual and transgendered youth. ‘It is not only just OK to be gay, straight, bisexual or transgendered,’ he said. ‘It is good to be that way, because that is the way God has made you.’”

That absolutely astounding theological and biological conjecture surely raises the question: Why has Dean Hall limited God’s (alleged) alternative sexual creationism to homosexual, bisexual and transsexual? ...

No John, I never said you were lying about that.

However, you don't believe everything your read on these forums. And neither do I.

If something is a fact, it is insufficient merely to declare it a fact, it needs to be shown to be a fact.

John Yurich USA wrote:

There are no Catholics who trust in Jesus alone for salvation. They lose their Catholic status as soon as they believe that Protestant doctrine. If you don't believe me, write to the pope and ask him. He will have you excommunicated and anathematised real quick.

It's far too vague.
Well no website exists where my previous Archbishop stated that he was ok with my previous priest preaching about trusting in Jesus alone for salvation and with my previous priest telling parishioners to read the King James Version along with the Catholic Bible. About the priest from Australia or New Zealand preaching about trusting in Jesus alone for salvation, I learned that from somebody on this website. You have got some nerve stating that I am telling an untruth about my previous priest preaching about trusting in Jesus alone for salvation and him telling parishioners to read the King James Version along with the Catholic Bible. I am not like you and assume that every Catholic subscribes to all Catholic doctrine and that there are no Catholics who trust in Jesus alone for salvation. That is pretty stupid to assume that all Catholics subscribe to all Catholic doctrine and that there are no Catholics who trust in Jesus alone for salvation.

Joke of the day,

Is the One True Church Roman Catholic?

Ah, John Y.!

excerpt from the summary for,The Call to Endurance. So, John Y., in your case it's not so much a case of endurance but when are you going to start to endure? Sounds like you're just going to have to start fellowshipping with believers -- no matter if you can't stand Christians

I'm having a difficult time believing this because they would be in direct conflict with their churches own doctrines and would be considered anathema by their own new catecism. The church, by their own writings, condemn and curse anyone who believes this. If they taught this publicly, I can't imagine that they would be around for long.
Quite so, Christopher! Notice that we are never pointed to a website where we can read for ourselves that these rebel Catholics are truly going against the pope.

Next thing you know, the anti-reformation Jesuits will set up a dummy Catholic website to provide us with proof of what the trolls are saying.

Understandable

My neighbors friends have a RCC Priest that wont Infant Baptize but only on confirmation. Their diocese allows that discretion.

The RCC has a pretty big umbrella to keep the various orders happy.

Don't flatter yourself, Steve.

If by "IDs" you mean monikers; I have but one.

Since it isn't likely we can ever have a civil discussion; I'll just put you on my ignore list. Problem solved.... for me anyway.

Yes I am kind of shy. I don't like to engage in verbal communication that often. And fellowshipping is not required for salvation.
But it is required for growth, John. And we are expected to grow. See what it says in Hebrews 5:11-14 (New American Catholic bible)

"About this we have much to say, and it is difficult to explain, for you have become sluggish in hearing.
Although you should be teachers by this time, you need to have someone teach you again the basic elements of the utterances of God. You need milk, (and) not solid food.
Everyone who lives on milk lacks experience of the word of righteousness, for he is a child.
But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties are trained by practice to discern good and evil."

You can't grow alone, John Y.

John Y does it not bother you the RCC teaches a works based salvation that can save no one? That's over a billion people on this planet who believe in a damnable heresy for salvation because of the false teachings of Catholicism. Don't you think that's horrible and of Satan. A Biblical Church would not preach a lie for salvation.
