Drone Operators Feeling the Effects of Carrying Out Kill Orders

President Obama reportedly sits in the Oval Office on Tuesdays and adds and subtracts names from his infamous “kill list.” In consultation with his national security advisers, the president takes names of suspected terrorists and transfers them from flash cards to orders for summary execution.

Of course, the president doesn’t have to kill these people himself, and he doesn’t have to watch them or anyone else be incinerated in the blast zone of a Hellfire missile. Someone does, however, and some of those charged with piloting the drones and firing the missiles are beginning to suffer psychologically from the awful assignment.

Consider the following harrowing and heartbreaking story of one of these drone operators, as reported by CNN: ...

I believe the brethren will be purified and some few hidden and then there will be a bonny bairn time.

Am I my brothers keeper? I Tim. 5:22 Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.

Then you ask if the early Church was culpable for the persecution of Christians? It depends, do you mean, the persecuted, the heathen's or visible church's. In my study of Matthew 25:31-46 this morning; I'd conclude those you call 'early Christians' will be distinguished as Gentile nations/churches in this separation spoken of, which is not the final judgment, see Joel 3: 1,2,11,12 by their behavior towards Christ's brethren. 'Come out of her my people' and 'come up hither' will occur at the true Church's ascension Rev. 11:12 I believe there are 3 groups in Matthew 25 sheep, goats and Christ's brethren, a people effectually called out of every nation since Christ's incarnation and ascension.

We are not engaged in a declared war in these places. Mr. Obama has stated; We are not now, nor will we ever be at war with Islam. Therefore I must conclude these are random murders, and it was not done in a corner. I 'questioned', the duty of my place and calling before God, and man and thought others should as well.

Actually only the military has "assault rifles." An assault rifle can be switched from fully automatic to semiautomatic. The ar15 and ak47s that are available to civilians are only semi automatic. Not to mention these so called "assault" weapons only make up 4% of gun crime. Its funny people who don't know anything about guns try to tell us they are a detriment to society, when most gun owners are law abiding citizens.

Is that how you can pacify your mind, Mike, on living in a society with over 53,000 assault rifle shops in your malls?
Besides gun violence, irrational thinking is another dangerous cultural problem:
1) What do statistics have to do with ethics? What figure do you consider acceptable, & how does one derive this value objectively?

2) Why does it matter whether a gun store is in a mall or not? It may actually be safer for gun stores to be in enclosed malls, which are secured after hours.

3) Even if it *is* somehow immoral for the US to have retail gun stores, then how do you know that weighs on anyone's conscience? It might bother *you*, but that doesn't imply it bothers other people.

In addition to having no say in how tax money is spent, what happened to being responsible for one's own actions? Why is "this nation" guilty for what some residents do? As you said, it is a question for every man's conscience. That is every man as individuals, not as dwellers of a particular nation.

A problem only if one believes in Guilt by Association. Were early Christians culpable for Rome's cruelty, such as gladiatorial games or Titus's sack of Jerusalem? These were financed in part from taxes paid by faithful Christians, as instructed by Jesus & the Apostles.
