Alongside Common Core, Feds Will Vacuum Up Data on Kids
Alongside the highly controversial nationalization of education via the Obama administration-backed ‚ÄúCommon Core,‚ÄĚ the federal government is bribing and bullying state governments into collecting huge amounts of private data on students for use by the U.S. Department of Education and other bureaucracies. Despite establishment efforts to downplay the links, the outrage surrounding both schemes ‚ÄĒ removing local control of schooling through dubious national standards and vacuuming up information on America‚Äôs children ‚ÄĒ continues to grow nationwide.

It would be great if one can find reputable sources for various statements, This John Birch Society magazine (in effect) is not one of them A more accurate source on various feature of Common Core:

They reflect the ‚Äúwhat‚ÄĚ a student should know. Curriculum refers to ‚Äúhow‚ÄĚ a student will be taught. I would expect parents to keep monitoring programs like this, get some good information, and make sure programs like CCSS is not doing something that they would thoroughly disapprove of.
The same with the ACA, if some grandstanding demagogues in Congress, spend more time removing support for abortion, instead of throwing "the baby out with the bathwater," they might have accomplished something useful. Apparently the courts will neutralize that portion of the ACA anyway, and they didn't shut down the government to do it.
