Divisive pastor Mark Driscoll says Christians should stop infighting

Controversial pastor and #1 New York Times bestselling author, Mark Driscoll, has been called a lot of things: bully, sexist, fundamentalist, bigot, and even “the cussing pastor.” But with the release of his new book, A Call to Resurgence: Will Christianity Have a Funeral or a Future?, the minister hopes to add a new label to his brassy brand: “peacemaker.”

“The bad news is that Christians don’t even get it, according to Driscoll—they’re stuck in their cul-de-sacs,” a press release for the book stated. “Christians are isolated in ‘tribes’ on the Internet, and they spend too much time lobbing e-bombs at each other in cyberspace.”

But given the pattern of extreme speech that has marked Driscoll’s ministry, one has to wonder whether he’s the man for the job. ...

The church at Pergamum was commended for holding fast and remaining faithful to Jesus Christ even when one of their members was martyred.

But the commendation didn't minimize or offset the condemnation they received. They had failed to maintain doctrinal purity by allowing false teaching to infiltrate from within. Some who had professed faith in Christ held, and promoted, beliefs that were contrary to the teaching of Christ. By means of compromise, these beliefs were being tolerated in this church. Furthermore, the doctrinal corruption was then resulting in moral corruption.

Correction was called for. They were to repent - to change their minds and their behavior. If they did not, Christ said He, Himself would out-rightly oppose them.

from the summary for,
Doctrinal Compromise is Condemned

Mark Driscoll should be shunned by Christians. At least read the summary for the sermon, Disassociate with False Teachers

Ra´ca    (r?´kå)
a. 1. A term of reproach used by the Jews of our Savior's time, meaning "worthless."
Whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council.
- Matt. v. 22.

Worthless, vain, empty, vain, despised.

Doesn't the word fool come from the word "raca" in the Bible? Going from memory but I think raca was used in the same verse. Maybe not...I'll try to take a look in a bit.

God uses the term 'fool' in Psalms is HE in error also?
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

Jesus uses the term 'fool'
Is it in error for HIS followers to do so likewise?
Matt 23:17 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?

Paul also applies the terms 'fool' and 'foolishness' throughout the Epistles. Is he in error too?

Oh and as for Driscoll and his Disneyland charismatics they are unbiblical and to the plain Christian they appear to be foolish.

Driscoll must be using the same playbook as the Impostor from Kenya. He causes division with his ungodly preaching and attitudes and then calls on everyone to make peace, but what he really means is don't critisize him for his errors and bad behaviour. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. The crude, vulgar, blasphemous stuff that comes out of his depraved mind show he clearly has no fear of God. Just a few quotes from his books show him to be the godless charlatan that he is. He should be avoided like the plague!

The word "fool" is an English translation. Not to worry Carl

these pastors rather deal with the infighting than deal with the persecution upon the land. they don't want to lead their people and scare off the chaff and pray their people through this. shame on them!

what the church is experiencing is a huge vacuous hole of leadership, with men who will push their theology but not apply it.

the Shepherd protects his sheep, doesn't leave them wide open in the field for the wolves to get!

they speak too brazenly and know not.

even stuff I'm seeing coming out of these supposedly conservative organizations are the same liberalism I saw in mainline churches in the 80's. I've seen it all before.

when the world no longer wants Christ, the pressures on the flesh will be impossible to overcome, but in Christ the overcomers receive eternal life. now when MD starts to talk in these terms and JMac and the whole lot of them, then I will believe they've counted the cost.

Mark Driscoll is a novice (1 Timothy 3:6), and he needs to get his act together before he points his finger at others, as his ministry is part of the apostasy. His college humor style of preaching is vulgar and incredibly immature, and not in line with Scripture.
