This Is What Heretical, Counterfeit Christianity in Action Looks Like

“We must now have the courage to take the final step and call homophobia and heterosexism what they are. They are sin. Homophobia is a sin. Heterosexism is a sin. Shaming people for who they love is a sin. Only when all our churches say that clearly and boldly and courageously will our LGBT youth be free to grow up in a culture that totally embraces them as they fully are.”

These aren’t the words of an outspoken gay activist at a rally. Or, well, maybe they sort of are. These words came from the lips of Rev. Gary Hall, the dean of Washington’s National Cathedral, in a recent Sunday sermon. Hall was speaking during a weekend that honored lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth and commemorated the 15th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s death. Shepard was tragically murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in 1998.

But Hall’s sermon wasn’t an isolated instance or any sort of departure from his ...

Yes I trust in Jesus alone for salvation. I don't trust in Baptism or anything else for salvation.

For your information I accept the biblical Baptist doctrine of salvation that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as one's Savior. And you have the gaul to state that my beliefs are not biblical. Gs, If Graham preaches the Baptist doctrine of salvation that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as one's Savior then Graham is not a false minister because he preaches the exact doctrine of salvation that every other Baptist minister preaches. So you are basically stating that every Baptist minister
is a false minister.

John Y, I see no reason for you to call or imply that someone is a moron, stupid, or mentally deranged. That's quite immature. Also your making yourself look foolish, as I said you can go to YouTube and easily find the video of Billy Graham quite clearly saying that are saved people from many faiths, that they love Jesus whether they are conscious of it or not. Or you can just refuse to watch the video, and arbitrarily defend the Guy.

JY, you should record all the things you say, then grab a cup of coffee, sit down, and play them back. I think it might make you less inclined to question the mental or spiritual qualifications of others.

John Yurich, he doesn't teach the exclusivity of Christ but that there are many roads to heaven. how I wish he would publicly retract his comments given at the crystal cathedral. others say there is proof of freemasonry, but when you get into areas of secrecy, how can you know? so he may say that Jesus is the way, but for another, they will find another way.

Just read the bible. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you with a humble heart. I know some on here are a nuisance, but others, I think, truly care about you.

I wouldn't worship among those who are teaching another gospel, but the truth is John Yurich, that many are leaving many churches right now, and will seek fellowship where it may be found. Have you ever listened to Wurmbrand? He was a Romanian pastor jailed for the faith. Even when he lost everything, the presence of Christ brought Him joy, and I think he would agree with me, this is the most precious thing, like the pearl of great price, knowing Christ is worth shedding idols, such as freemasonry.

John Y, the Gospel is simple, but it isn't easy (hence the narrow versus broad roads). What you are saying, using the biblical example of us being Christ's bride is, "Well, we said 'I do!' I can just relax and do whatever I want now with no more thought of it!" It's a labor of love, striving to GROW UP and mature, finding community in the body of Christians. You are very much in need of some serious Bible studying. "Finally, brothers, rejoice. Become mature, be encouraged, be of the same mind, be at peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you." (2 Corinthians 13:11). If you stay where you are, you will continue to be of the same mind as those and your peace will be short lived.
Every sermon I have heard Graham preach he has preached the Baptist doctrine of salvation that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as one's Savior just as every other Baptist minister preaches. So Graham is not a False minister.

Hi Anne, I always consider the verse that talks about so many believing in Christ and even doing things in His name, but He casts them out saying, "I never knew you", and these are people who were active in His name. I always consider the inactive who claim to love Him, but their lifetime goes to waste as they sit idly by. I know that we are not justified by works and all that, but it seems to me that if you truly love someone, you will listen to them, obey them, continue on with their cause, emulate them, etc, etc

"Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk — not as unwise people but as wise — making the most of the time, because the days are evil. So don’t be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actions, but be filled by the Spirit: SPEAKING TO ONE ANOTHER in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music from your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of Christ." (Ephesians 5:15-21 - my emphasis added)

How's that not engaging verbal communication going to work for you when you lead your band? Still thinking of hiding behind the drummer?
I will not be hiding behind anybody when I form a small Country Music/Country Gospel band. I will be playing the guitar next to one of the other guitar players. I will be communicating with the band members. But I don't see the need to engage in fellowship and communication in church with individuals.

Gs Texas, One will still gain entrance into Heaven after passing away if they don't fellowship with individuals in church or grow in their faith because they fulfilled the only requirement for salvation, they embraced Jesus as their Savior.

While fellowship isn't required for salvation, it is important for Christians to fellowship with one another. It will help you grow, and it helps to have a positive Christian influence from other believers. I am around lost reprobates 5 days a week, 8 hours a day and I am vexed by their vile influence. I have more contact with the lost, than saved do to not findind a Biblical church, or like minded Christians. So, I am constantly struggling with their unbiblical influence. I honestly don't know anyone my age who is truly saved. I gave up my freinds when I got saved because I have no desire to take part in their sinful lifestyle. I have witnessed to my former friends, and a few of my Co workers all to no avail. I guess the point I'm trying to make is that fellowship is important because as Christians, we need a constant support from each other

Whew! Just read your posts and am now struggling as to just what to say.

I know believers like Voddie Baucham (SermonAudio) Tim Conway (I'll be Honest.com) are out there, even in Texas AND are they ever a wonderful find. A few weeks ago I was in the Dallas area, delayed at a Shipper and met a wonderful younger (than me) black brother (I'm white and just into my 60s, didn't make a difference, Christ did) I had just about instant identification with as a fellow believer who likes Voddie Baucham and had a likeminded interest and passion for God.

Jesus knows we are living in increasingly difficult and perilous times (2 Tim 3:1-5) when it is such a blessing to know despite all that is not right (for now) His grace is more than enough and sufficient for the greatest trials we would ever face, so enjoy those you do have and let Him hold onto you AND may the family of God here on SermonAudio lift you up that He place you in a faithful Bible believing, preaching and living church

Blessings
