Teen pregnancy drops as Planned Parenthood vanishes
Communities looking to reduce their teen pregnancy rates perhaps should consider one move before all the others: closing down any Planned Parenthood business.

That’s because a new study of one region of the country shows that as Planned Parenthood operations shut down and moved out, the teen pregnancy rate plunged by almost half.

The study comes from the pro-life American Life League, but it uses government figures to reach its conclusions. It analyzed one section of the nation – the Texas Panhandle region – where over the course of several years 19 Planned Parenthood businesses closed or left. ...

Good question. Planned Parenthood (who's name is an oxymoron) is the largest abortion provided here in the states. They make MILLIONS on the 100's of thousands abortion they perform every year. They SAY they provide women's healthcare, but they farm all that out to third party groups, what they provided is a way to have planned UNparenthood. Sadly they are funded by the money from U.S. taxpayers in violation of the law.

Very interesting! I think we have to be very speculative in trying to figure out whether closing of PPs is having an effect on promiscuity. But, in my mind the fact that these murder factories are closing is a very good thing indeed.

My feelings about this for what it's worth is that the injectable contraceptives are having an impact. I used to be a family planning dr and in clinics where the girls used injectable devices there was a huge reduction in unwanted pregnancy. The oral contraceptive pill in my opinion was leading to unwanted pregnancy because of its slightly higher failure rate plus girls of that age are not very reliable at taking a pill every day.

If it's truly the reason teen pregnancies have lowered, super! But I know there are abortafacients available like candy in school's now - might this have something to do with it? The TV and music they listen to hasn't changed and promotes a promiscuous lifestyle; I doubt their parents are saying, "See?! I told you so!" I have a hard time believing that PP leaves and suddenly the light of abstinence dawns on teens and they stop cavorting around. Not wanting to be so pessimistic, but something just doesn't make sense; seems too easy, too cut and dry.
We can only speculate but perhaps the knowledge that if a girl gets pregnant, there is no longer an easy fix for the inconvenience, is having an impact. Suddenly bearing the responsibility for one's actions can have a positive outcome.
