House GOP Blinks: Will Lift Debt AND Reopen Government
House Republicans have sent the White House a revised proposal to lift the debt ceiling for six weeks, as well as reopen government through December 15th, which was their original spending proposal before the partial shutdown. The revised GOP plan reflects the demands Obama made in a meeting with House GOP Leaders on Thursday. It also reflects the unwillingness of the DC GOP to face a fiscal showdown with Democrats.
I just wonder what happens when all the working force get pushed out to become the takers of welfare, who's left to squeeze? really, how would a nation survive with this kind of parasitical mentality..... with austerity measures, that is not enough to go around, the answer would be to work together, but its clear they rather groups blame each other and ignore what is really happening, because its more that we want to believe, troubling to see supposed Christians egging that on.
Take time to get your facts straight Jim. The House PASSED a budget TWICE (a compromise was made on the second one sent) to fund the government and the democratically controlled Senate didn't vote on it and the democratic president threatened a veto if it got to him . The House then PASSED funding for areas like the NIH and national monuments and again NO vote from the democratically controlled Senate. It is the Democrats and their no negotiation stance that has shut down the government! Facts are facts, stop believing liberal lies.
