It’s been one full week since the flagship technology portion of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) went live. And since that time, the befuddled beast that is Healthcare.gov has shutdown, crapped out, stalled, and mis-loaded so consistently that its track record for failure is challenged only by Congress.
The site itself, which apparently underwent major code renovations over the weekend, still rejects user logins, fails to load drop-down menus and other crucial components for users that successfully gain entrance, and otherwise prevents uninsured Americans in the 36 states it serves from purchasing healthcare at competitive rates – Healthcare.gov’s primary purpose. The site is so busted that, as of a couple days ago, the number of people that successfully purchased healthcare through it was in the “single digits,” according to the Washington Post....
Jim let just say your story from the NYT is accurate (wait, that would be a violation of the 9th commandment) Remember their motto is all the views fit to print
But, seeing you love to put articles up from them, let us note the first line of a story they put out on April 16th, 1976 by Robert Reinhold.
"WASHINGTON, April 16 Jimmy Carter said today that he favored nationwide mandatory health insurance to be financed through employer and payroll taxes as well as general tax revenues."
Seems like it favored a Kennedy-Corman health security plan favored by Humphrey, Jackson and Udall all democrats.(from documented Wikipedia article on Jimmy Carter)
Regardless of where it originated the facts STILL are NO Republican voted for the current so called Affordable Healthcare Act that is causing insurance premiums to more than double in many areas, taxing the poor and middle class, and leading to a system that will have government bureaucrats deciding what kind of coverage you get and how often you see your doctor. They even lied as to how many hits they got on the website, not that that matters, ITS A MANDATE, there's a fine if your not covered, of course they had many hits.
The administration ignored several warnings that it was not ready for roll out and still implemented
Veritas, you had better hope what is really a Republican plan, works, Conservative Origins of Obamacare. I received an email the other day that said only 30% support the ACA. What that email left out, is that 20% wanted something more like the English National Health Service, if one is worried about Socialized medicine worry that the ACA doesn't work. Just as many people want Universal Health Care as those who don't or they might even be in the majority, so Give healthcare a chance to evolve. With, religious groups winning some court battles, it could turn into a tolerable healthcare system.
The original site that told about these three sites, had some irritating and potentially obnoxious advertisements when you went to it. All too many sites do this. I always try to put the printed format of a Jerusalem Post article because they pull the same trick of having these type of advertisements (You can often get rid of them, by turning off Java support in your mobile browser) or go the printed version of the article. Some outfits like the one that is used in my first message here, makes sure it can only be used for printing.
