Boehner: House will not pass bill to re-open government until Obama agrees to negotiate

Speaker John Boehner said Sunday that the House of Representatives will not pass bills to re-open the federal government or raise the debt limit unless President Barack Obama comes to the negotiating table.

“He knows what my phone number is, all he has to do is call,” Boehner, R-Ohio said on ABC's This Week with George Stephanopoulos.

In his first extended TV interview since shutdown Tuesday, a defiant Boehner placed the blame for the fiscal impasse firmly on Obama, who has refused to sit down with House Republicans until they re-open the government at current spending levels. ...

What I hear there are now enough Republicans who have come to their senses, and realize that the Tea Party is a kiss of death for them. They really need to pass the funding bill without any strings, especially when it comes to the ACA.

Oh, by the way, as you have guessed by now, for any of you who have read my past messages, I'm not an overly big fan of chaplains, those suffering from Seventh-day Adventism, especially, it is interesting to note that the U.S. Senate Chaplain tried to talk some religious sense into politicians, which of course, he will get lip service to, but nothing else q.v., Senate Chaplain Shows His Disapproval During Morning Prayer - NYTimes.com. He is even scheduled to speak to the House, where he will no doubt get more amens and even less action.
