Christian TV host asks God for ‘military takeover’ of Obama’s presidency
A Christian TV host this week called on God to consider a “military takeover” of President Barack Obama’s government because it could be the only way to save the country from tyranny.

On his Monday Internet broadcast, Morning Star TV’s Rick Joyner predicted that democracy was “doomed” unless the Lord imposed martial law.

“The balance of powers in the legislative and judicial branches were supposed to balance and keep in check, hold in check, the potential tyranny from the executive branch overstepping their bounds,” Joyner explained. “The people are not always right, it depends on what people they are. And another thing the founders warned about is this thing will only work for a moral and a religious people. You remove morality, you remove the religious influence, and it cannot work.” ...

American "Christians" are just as responsible for Obama being in office as any other American, apart from church talk and being active in church culture, which consist primarily of entertainment they are no different than the rest.

Hi Mike, I guess I was just thinking of that verse that talks about God appointing Kings, rulers, etc (something like that). I know that OBama takes a very liberal stance, so its hard to imagine, for me, that God put him, along with so many others, into positions of power. But then, I figure God puts these people here and there for a time because He needs them to fit the puzzle pieces together; the puzzle pieces that need to fit in order to usher in the times of the end. Maybe they are Satan's men who God uses for His own purposes? I don't know...

if I pray for antichrists, it is that they repent and be saved, and that innocents be protected from them.

Mike are you saying God has no power over evil? I don't like obama any more than you do but the reason he's where he is now is because Christians didn't get out and vote..the Bible says that God puts kings on the throne and takes them off. You are missing my point..he maybe there because God is judging America..9/11 was a wake up call for America but looks like she has fallen asleep again. I'm still obeying God's word as long as he is our president..again Roman government was no better than this one, after all they are the ones that killed Jesus.

I have to agree with Christopher. If God didn't want Obama in office, he wouldn't be there. It is part of God's sovereign will that he is the temporal head of our nation, and we are obliged to submit to his authority to the extent that it doesn't overrule God's commands. It is part of our judgment, which we as a nation so richly deserve.

Good posts, Dolores and Crissy, I agree with both because it's so easy to lose sight of thoses things. As for Mr Obama, I for one hate the thibgs he supports along with the fact that he had no business running (ruining) a country, but at the same time, I guess it is God's will that he is in power in the first place.
Chris, since this country isn't arranged in such a way that the president should be running it,(he's the head of one branch only) then we can't really say God put him in charge. The people are legally in charge through their representatives. If we're going to say God establishes governments, then we have to say he established this one as well. Therefore we also have to conclude he didn't put the president in charge, and to the degree the pres takes power unto himself, he's fighting against God's design for this government. Which he also does in many other areas, as the last 5 years has shown. It's funny how we tend to think public servants are "over" us. In most cases it may be true, but not so here.

I believe God would have us pray for the president and all those in authority over us that they would be given wisdom and understanding in running our country..that those who aren't saved would receive Christ as Saviour..that we might live in peace. That's what is in the Bible and Christians were told to do this even though they were under Roman rule and perscution. Never once did He tell them to do what this man Joyner said to do. Things will only get worse until Jesus comes again and sets His Kingdom up.

GS Texas, the only country that was ever blessed on permanent basis is Israel, other ones got a temporary, blessing when they realize that Does God Have a Future for Israel?: A Study of Romans 11.

Gods blessing no longer resides on this country, therefore he is not gonna do anything to save it. God is just giving the people what they want. Something like 75% of this country claims to be Christian, however it doesn't take a whole lot of discernment to tell that can't possibly be true. One thing I can't stand is hearing that this is a Christian nation. That is just blasphemy! At one time maybe, but not now. This country has no fear of God. Rampant abortion, sodomy on the rise, filthy Hollywood movies that glorifies everything the Bible says is an abomination, moral deprivation on a massive scale, abject greed and materialistic, hate laws aimed towards Christian values and so forth. This is what the people want, not everybody but most. So next time someone says "God Bless America" think about what they are asking God to bless: a morally devoid country with no fear of the Lord.

Psalms 9:17 "The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the NATIONS that forget God."
