Billy Graham’s Grandson: Evangelicals ‘Worse’ Than Catholics on Sex Abuse

Apparently, the Catholic Church isn’t the only religious entity forced to deal with sexual abuse of youth. Evangelicals are just as guilty, if not more so, says Boz Tchividjian, Billy Graham’s grandson and a law professor at Liberty University.

Tchividjian, who investigates such abuses, told a room of journalists last week that evangelicals have no room to chastise Catholics when it comes to sexual abuse in the church.

“Protestants can be very arrogant when pointing to Catholics,” Tchividjian, executive director of Godly Response to Abuse in the Christian Environment (GRACE), told Religion News Service (RNS). Tchividjian said too many evangelicals have “sacrificed the souls” of young victims in order to protect the reputation of their churches. ...

Hi Dolores, I have forgotten about returning, but haven't had the time to type out all that I want, while putting thought into it. Please check back...I'll try to post later today.
Nothing profound, just my own personal thought process that sprung from a question that Josephus answered to himself while writing war of the Jews. His comment, concerning personal struggles with sin, really made me think and opened up my mind to our uniqueness to God. Be back soon...

BTW: before anyone comnents, I know Josephus wasn't a prophet, a disciple, etc.

Chris, just read your post and thanks so much for commenting on my sister and deep down inside I believe what you are saying is so true. That's why you will hear me over and say I cannot Judge a person only God can do that..what said is so from God to me because I have been praying for an assurance she made it into heaven..she did know Jesus as her Saviour and there are circumstances of why aperson does what they do that God alone sees and understands..now I'm crying because I sense His prrsence as He tries to comfort me with this..I loved herso much and want to see her again someday.

The corrupt cant promise themselves salvation(2 Peter 2). Some of them who show up are liars. You can spot them by their hatred of Saints like those who cant stop their incessant bashing of the saved in the RCC

1 John 4:20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Hi Dolores, I just typed out a super long post to you but them the SA app froze up and I lost it...argh. I'll try to retype it later. The post was about my dad and your sister and how I don't believe things are always as black and white as they might seem to some. I believe that God sees each person very, very uniquely and that many, many things are weighed in the balances when it comes to how one may have lived their life, as opposed to how it should have been lived, etc. I believe that there are many extenuating circumstances that God takes into account for those who truly believed in Him but struggled with life.

John Y you must have totally ignored what I posted. How is a man who is loved by the lost world, and says there are many ways to heaven even possibly a Christian.
2 Corinthians 11:13-15 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works."

Baptist ministers who preach that salvation comes only through embracing Jesus as ones Savior, which is Baptist teaching. Baptist Churches have Altar Calls to give individuals the opportunity to embrace Jesus as their Savior by praying to Him and asking Him to become their Savior. The Altar Call is derived from Romans 10:9. I have a Baptist friend who was saved during an Altar Call at his Baptist Church when he was about 12 years old. And for all those who state that Catholics don't know about embracing Jesus as ones Savior, that is wrong. My Father embraced Jesus as his Savior in a fox hole in New Guinea during World War II, which he learned from the Catholic Church.

Parents should never entrust their child to the supervision of a church officer or worker. First, there is no Biblical warrant for the venues where this happens, & 2nd, it's highly risky in a culture so hostile to the virtue of self-control.

Mr Grahm exist as a reperesenative of the gospel in many people's minds because the Church does not police it's self in regard to truth "judge not" has become the doctrine that trumps all of the day,one can go to youtube and type in "preacher" and rarely will a bible preaching pastor come up,what comes up are the church lady and a whole host of TV preachers known for their lavish lifestyles and numerous scandals....read thye comments to see what the church has allowed the words "preacher, christian" and "church" to be defined as .

Thanks Chris..you have been my encourager also..like a brother I never had. As a matter of fact I sense the love among all of you that can come only from our mutual love of God even when in disagreement..but that's ok too..I've looked at things differently in some of these different thoughts and insights, that I hadn't thought of before. There have been times I've actually laughted at someone's remarks..the only songs we can sing in worship has to come from the Psalms, for example Have a blessed, happy day, Christopher.

Sorry you have suffered the loss of your sister, Dolores. I know we love our kin, even when they mess up. My sister is a decent person, but staunch RC, and doesn't want anything more. Would that she would be drawn to Christ.

Hi Dolores, maybe I worded it wrong. What I was trying to say is that I used to post/think as if I knew this person was born again, that one isn't, etc, but I don't do that anymore because only God knows. With some, their spiritual state is painfully obvious, but the others I'm speaking of; those who, it seems, could go either way, I guess, in my own mind, I just don't assume anything anymore. I see myself as having been worse than most, so if I can be saved, I shouldn't be judging anyone elses spiritual condition, conditions that God alone is privy to. We see what we see, we read what we read, but who knows how God is working in their lives, now, or in the future...
