Pastor and Son Killed in Nigeria, Church Burned by Suspected Islamic Militants
A Christian pastor and his son were killed and a church was burned by suspected Islamic militants using automatic weapons and explosives in northeast Nigeria early Thursday morning, according to Nigerian police.
A village leader was also killed in Dorawa, the Associated Press reported, quoting Corporal Musa Ibrahim.
According to Ibrahim, the attackers used explosives to ignite the church as well as five homes.
"After this I looked, and there was a vast multitude from every nation, tribe, people, and language, which no one could number, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were robed in white with palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: Salvation belongs to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb! I said to him, âSir, you know.â Then he told me: These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For this reason they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His sanctuary. The One seated on the throne will shelter them:" (Revelation 7:9, 10, 14, 15 HCSB)
Their tribulation is over! I pray their family will be comforted while they will continue to face peril through this pain.
So sorry you feel that way. For centuries, since Adam and Eve, God has given to each of His sheep a job and ministry in life and expects us to do much with the life He has given us (Luke 19:24). In His grace, He fits each of us for the purpose of His holy will. I cannot lay my life in front of these saints in Nigeria and take their place because God has called me to work here and should I leave my post, I suspect He would be displeased greatly. In no way does that mean I do not "weep with those who weep"! The entire body suffers when it receives a wound. If your conscience is bothering you and you feel you spend too much time reading and commenting on SA instead of being in the front lines of the physical battlefields in Nigeria, I am quite certain you could find a church willing to sponsor you as a missionary there! In the meantime, it might be more fruitful to build up the body of Christ instead of tearing it down with insults and false accusations. This was no way to honor the father and son martyred in Nigeria.
are you referring to the terrible way that some have treated others standing up for Christian standards of discourse, even on here? I agree
Too many feather bed Christians have no idea of what true persecution is and when they see a christian chastening an other who is in obvious sin, they side with the sinner, they tell the one washing the other in Christ's Word that they are too hard or too harsh, it makes me sick when I think of actual Christians who are being martyred now, some even in the western world.
Two more witnesses of Christ cowardly struck down by muslim devils. I see no one wants to comment about this, everyone would rather relive the Reformation, burn down the obviously mislead RCC. Exactly my point yesterday, western, soft play acting Christians "standing their ground" against online heretics while our brothers and sisters are becoming Hebrews 11 witnesses. God bless those Nigerian father and son, may they have their rest now in glory.
