Parent Dares Challenge Common Core, Hauled Away in Handcuffs

When a concerned parent dared attend a school board meeting last week to express his concerns about Common Core, he was carried away in handcuffs.

Arriving at Regional Public Forum on the Common Core State Standards – Central Maryland Forum held September 19 at the Ridge Ruxton School in the Baltimore suburb of Towson, Maryland, Bob Small was determined to question the wisdom the federal government’s new standardized curriculum know as Common Core.

"I want to know how many parents here are aware that the goal of Common Core standards isn't to prepare our children for full-fledged universities, it's to prepare them for community college,” Small said, to applause.

“My question is, how does lowering America's educational standards prepare kids for community college?" asked Small, before a police officer moonlighting as a security guard forced Small out of the auditorium. ...

When the Nazi pushed the man asking questions I would have stepped towards the aggressor and pushed him away stating "The tax payer has a first amendment right to free speech. Let him speak." Sadly though, there would have been no one to back me up seeing that America has become a nation of sissies!

Hahaha! Yes, we wouldn't want those pesky facts and reality to get in the way! If it was dung, that would be one thing I would GLADLY render back to Caesar!

Jim! Jim, Jim! Jim! God help you! You have no clue whatsoever how homeschooling from a biblical perspective works, do you? Utterly flabbergasted... I wouldn't follow Common Core because it doesn't meet biblical education criteria - not the other way around! I will happily be your definition of an "ignoramus" since it means I run my kids' education standards through the Bible first and foremost. My kids will dance circles around Common Core indoctrinated drones, like nearly every other Homeschooler will be able to do. This curriculum is below the lowest end of the average intelligent person's IQ and provides zero life skills! There is absolutely NOTHING redeeming about a curriculum put out by the unregenerated and reprobates. No matter how you peddle a cow pie, it's still dung!
I believe Jim considers peddling govt dung as rendering to Caesar. It shows he has an independent scriptural application.

Well, homeschoolers that aren't complete ignoramuses will no doubt follow much in the Common Core, either exactly, or teach some subjects with their own slant and not being familiar with the whole plan of Common Core there can very well be some subjects that won't want to touch.

But for parents who live in states that don't have Common Core and have governmental leaders who have just learned about fire (hence the need for very big fire departments ) Definitely start homeschooling and you can have Common Core with the Bible being the most important element of their education, go for it! Get your kids out of public schools. Support homeschooling. It's the last bastion, and I'm sure the fed gov will aim its control gun at it next, but for now, it is your best option. Once God was "taken out" of public schools, the devil got let in. Beaurocrats work for him. No matter the brainwashing we get that says the gov is responsible to teach our children, this is simply not true. Parents, take personal control and oversight of your childrens' education. You are raising this and the next and the next (and so on) generation. Your children, whether they realize it or not, are counting on you.

If these parents wanted to make the ultimate statement to the schools, they would pull their children out and show the schools how it's done by parenting their own children and homeschooling them. I'm not ready to leave my kids' education to "chance" and they are not my political statements so I suck it up and do what God asks of parents to do - and find the blessings of family therein.

Are people really surprised when they give their kids over to other people that those "other people" suddenly feel they are in charge and tell the parents how it's going to be? It because the parents did just that! OOPS! So what's the hubbub? Make it right, Dad and Mom, for the sake of your children - take them OUT of the public domain! They should be in God's domain!

Ah, gentlemen, Rendering To Caesar---A Biblical Perspective On Government, Considering the the magazine this article came from was this a disruptive John Burcher at work? Anyway, "Resistance among conservatives seems to be more about picking a winnable battle against President Obama than providing the best possible education for students...." excerpt from, Was adopting Common Core a mistake? an excerpt from an op-ed piece from LA Times, which isn't entirely happy with Common Core.

We honor which one HAS by reason of rank and state of office which he holds, NOT the man HIMSELF for he may be a dishonorable man who abuses his God-given position of authority.

While I wasn't at the meeting where the parent was manhandled and treated disrespectfully, I can well believe that the school board acted offensively toward this man, the students and taxpaying citizens they are supposed to be acting on behalf of... I was a gov't school board member and witnessed the disdain shown for any parent that dares question the educational elite. Parents, please wake up and remove your children from the God-forsaken gov't schools.

We are to respect the office, but we are not to lay down passively while our national structure is being undermined!
If you were on a boat and the " captain was drilling a hole in it, you would probably be the first to fOrCe him to stop! Pray for the salvation of the men leading, but as God's men we are to protect, provide, tomorrow Good!
