Pope: 'I have never been a right-winger'
Did the new pope actually say “gay is OK” and people don’t need to believe in God to get to heaven?

Not really, according to many traditional-Catholic analysts who insist his highly publicized remarks over the summer have been taken out of context or misunderstood by a largely post-Christian Western world.

Nevertheless, Pope Francis clearly has struck a new, conciliatory tone on issues such as homosexuality, abortion and the role of women. And in a fresh interview in which he declared, “I have never been a right-winger,” he makes it clear that the Roman Catholic Church needs to change the way it communicates with the world. ...

Me neither ... and Peter was no pope! I agree with you on both points. In speaking with Roman Catholic apologists at various forums in which I participate I always make it a point to affirm that Roman Catholicism is not Christ's Church!

In the context of my prior comment . .
my prayer was directed to the poor benighted souls who are in bondage to Rome and who through ignorance of the Scriptures, blindly submit to papal rule . . simply because they were brought up in the Roman Catholic tradition to do so!

They have a zeal for God but not according to knowledge. (Rom. 10:1-3)

Inasmuch as the Lord has graciously delivered me from the antichrist system, it is not unreasonable to suppose that He has others for whom Christ died that He will call out as well.

"Salvation is of the LORD" (Jonah 2:9) and "with God all things are possible".
(Matt. 19:26)

Ah, June, I'm trying to think of a record of any Pope being or becoming a Christian (the Apostle Peter, who was a Christian was never a Pope! How Convincing Is the Roman Catholic View That Peter Was the First Pope? - Part 1 and How Convincing Is the Roman Catholic View That Peter Was the First Pope? - Part 2 ) Oh, and from a Catholic authoress, Please, Don’t Call Protestants Christians, return the favor and don't call Catholics Christian either! Is the One True Church Roman Catholic? (You have to interject a little humor in here once in awhile :-7 ) There is nothing humorous about this pope or The Papacy.

The pope is a master at double-speak! He is a blind leader of the blind and those that follow him will end up in the ditch along with him.
- Matt. 15:14 Sadly many are deceived by this wolf in sheep's clothing.
- Matt. 7:15

"For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works"
- II Cor. 11:13-15

Amongst the great numbers of benighted souls who are deceived by this false shepherd, may it please the Lord to lead some forth by the right way and through grace be brought to a saving knowledge of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ.

"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." - Rev. 18:4

"A wise man’s heart goes to the right, but a fool’s heart to the left." (Ecclesiastes 10:2)

Politics aside, he's never been a right-winger, biblically speaking.

The Pope said "I have never been a right-winger." In an age of left-wing rot, that is hardly something to boast about.

Ah, SteveR what "saints" in the Romish Church? They are "saints" if only declared so by the Romish church. You much have look at the statesments of the ECTII too much? 25 Ways to Subvert the Gospel.

I'm surprised that more economically conservatives here have not pointed out, Pope Francis's Economics: Yes, He Has A Leftist View Of Free Markets. So, he's definitely a Red Pope.

I have pointed before that he could have picked out the name Uriah I as his Papist designation, since he is so terribly, terribly humble like the Dickens character in David Copperfield -- Uriah Heep. My pastor made some great comments about this so humble pope in his sermons, Jesus Christ, Our One & Only High Priest and
Requirements of Every High Priest

Fallen man doesnt need to be 'prepared' for the AC, as his sinful state has already prepared him. It would be more appropriate to say the Bishop of Rome is not living up to his obligations and responsibilities to protect the Saints in the RCC
