Will Rick Warren lead a Christian movement for gun control?

Bestselling author and mega-church pastor Rick Warren and his wife, Kay, have been pushing Christians on social issues for the last decade. They were among the first evangelical leaders to begin championing adoption, which helped turn it into an issue of top priority among the faithful. And through their P.E.A.C.E. plan, they’ve helped mobilize evangelicals to fight AIDS, a disease many Christians believed was God’s judgment on gays and lesbians only a generation ago.

“It may actually be shorter to list causes that [Rick and Kay Warren] have not dedicated time and energy to,” CNN’s Daniel Burke wrote on Tuesday.

But after the Warren’s interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan last night about their son’s suicide and other issues, many wonder whether the religious power couple might lead a Christian movement for gun control. ...

Apparently not. I haven't heard very much about gun control lately anyway. The Republican Congress did not even want to look into it, the problems of gun violence. Meet the Doctor Who Gave $1 Million of His Own Money to Keep His Gun Research Going

it would alo be good if some self decribed Christians would exchange their lust for celebrity and acceptance by society for true biblical doctrine.

Why doesn't Rick Warren read his Bible and get to the heart of the matter instead of trying to be like the liberal progressives? If he wants to get involved in social issues, then why not try to abolish prenatal baby murder? Oh, that isn't exactly a popular thing to do in our "politically correct" society, is it?

Too bad, Ricky didn't stop with pushing adoption, one of the best cures in the secular world for abortion. Apparently, he just didn't know where to stop.

Of course there is no reason for Christians not to co-operate in secular jobs, I can't see why law-abiding Christians, Muhammadans, Buddhists, atheists, etc. couldn't be working in one fire house as firemen for instance.

But no, we have nothing in common with Islam and Extremism: What is Underneath.

I would agree with others Rick Warren is not a Christian. He certainly doesn't realize the Church is to be Committed to the Ministry of the Truth

GS, I agree with you. Thanks for your comment.

"Rather than apologetics demonstrating the inconsistency between the Koran and the Bible, Allah and Yahweh, the co-authored document affirms that Christians and Muslims believe in “one God,” share two central commandments: “love of God” and “love of neighbor,” and commits both faiths to three goals: Making friends with one another, building peace and working on shared social service projects."

I call Rick Warren a chameleon, who fools those who don’t see him change colors. See, he even fooled SteveR. You are correct in your assessment. Rick Warren is a false prophet!

Since I had no idea what you were talking about, I googled Warren and Islam and found the following

"By Alex Murashko, Christian Post Reporter

March 2, 2012|5:53 pm

LAKE FOREST, Calif. – Influential evangelist Pastor Rick Warren has labeled as "flat out wrong" a local newspaper's assertion that he believes Muslims and Christians worship the same God, has partnered with Southern California mosques and has agreed not to evangelize Muslims."

Spreading rumours and backbiting is not what Christians are called to do

Steve. If warrens son, was to acquire a rope, should we ban that from citizens?
It's a tragic thing that happened. But the issue, is not guns. The issue is the state of the person.
As for Warren. He is a Chameleon of many colors.

Steve, here is an example of a hissing noise:

"But going back to this thing about heaven and getting into a perfect place. Let’s say we got a scale of 1 to 100. Let’s put Hitler at zero and Mother Teresa at 100 OK. And Steve you’re at 85 and Larry’s at 65 and I’m at 45. The truth is, some people are better than others, there’s no doubt about it. Some people are more moral than others, they’re nicer, they’re less selfish, less self-centered, things like that. But the truth is, nobody makes [it] to perfection… And so somebody’s got to make up that difference. And that’s the gift I believe Jesus came to – to make up the difference between my zero and my 100 or my 45 and 100 -- somebody’s got to make up that difference." (RW)

Did you get that?

Do you think he actually understands what salvation is?

You think he's running a Christian church?

You don't believe he's leading people to hell?

Eh?

Why Rick Warren is a False Teacher

You are just plain cruel to attack Warren because he might lobby for gun control. He lost a son over an all too easy to acquire handgun. While Im not crazy about Saddlebacks doctrine, it is a CHRISTIAN Church. To say he is leading people to hell while preaching the Gospel is just hissing noise from a serpent

Rick Warren is a filthy rich false prophet leading many people to hell. Instead of calling for stricter gun control, why doesn't he quit preaching unbiblical easy believism, chrislam, and the watered down prosperity Gospel. All he cares about is putting money in his pocket.
1Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil, which while some have coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."
James 4:4 "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."
