‘They Think War Is Always the Answer’: Sen. Rand Paul Takes Shot at Some Christians’ ‘Overeagerness’ to Defend Israel Militarily
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) says he has difficulty reconciling the politics of “some” Christians who support Israel and Jews — especially their “overeagerness” to go to war to defend Israel — with the tenets of Christianity.

Paul makes his comments in an interview with Buzzfeed:

“I think some within the Christian community are such great defenders of the promised land and the chosen people that they think war is always the answer, maybe even preemptive war. And I think it’s hard to square the idea of a preemptive war and, to me, that overeagerness [to go to] war, with Christianity.” ...

Jim,

are you telling me that those who follow the Talmud and teach that Jesus is in hell covered by excrement, who teach that homosexuality is good and sharing the gospel is anti-Semitism, are a different people than Jews and Gentiles submitted to the law of God through conversion and redemption in Jesus Christ, the law written on their heart?

But the first group is chosen and the second not?

Are you a born again Christian?

Sounds like you'd be better off converting to mystical talmudism.

Sounds like you got the short end of the stick.

Here you could be living in sin, hating God and advancing yourself and would be chosen, whereas you had to find your way to God, and get yourself saved by your intellectual endevours, because you aren't chosen, right?

you must have achieved salvation on your own, because when you get down to it, the chosen ones are who? what? a racial group? a family tradition?

that's the apple of God's eye right there.... right?

and the beheaded ones are the nominal ones.

ya, I get what you're saying.

Are you ashamed of the cross of Jesus Christ?

"My sheep hear my voice"
Who hears? - "My" sheep.
Who hears "MY VOICE"? - "My" sheep.

Who becomes "MY" sheep? the disciples of Jesus?
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."

Those whom the Father has drawn. That is the elect - that is the chosen. God alone does the choosing, electing and the drawing to Jesus. Man can't because sin dominates him, sin blinds him. 1Cor 2:14.

Those who are not chosen/elect cannot hear the voice of Jesus nor can they respond.

Btw. Sinners only are chosen and elected by God. No advance purification is necessary.

How on earth did Calvinists get into this?

Now theres an interesting statement quote, "the original writings of Jesus."

I didn't know we had copies of the "writings" of Jesus.

Methinks there is an ulterior motive behind the posts of BP.

But anyone who supports the Muslim and the Koran as observed in BP's posts below is no Christian. For example quote, "The Koran adds to the Bible, takes precedence when there is a dispute between the two" = The dispute between the Bible and the Koran is simple.....
The Bible is the Word of God and truth.
The Koran is the work of Satan, the father of lies, and his followers.

At least the Calvinists know what they are talking about when it comes to the Bible.

No, Penny, Israel & the Church are Different People and Israel will always be the chosen nation, in spite of what the anti-Semites Pauls may say. What do you do with a future National Israel in the Bible?, you support not just for Biblical reasons, but for the fact they are front line of defense with our mortal enemies (at least the highly aggressive Islamic ones, q.v., The Two Faces of Islam . . . Still Smiling ) The Israelis are important Western nation disproving the lies of Islam, Israel's innovation benefits the world. They are physical proof that Muhammadanism is false. God will do things in His own time, and we can push it along, even if we wanted to, and very few Dispensationalists want war, I would say again and again and...read, Christian Zionists: The Real Terrorists

Blessed Peacemaker, in my experience it has been dispensationalists who have been promoting these wars because they think they are helping Jewish people.

Not sure how Calvin gets into this? Predestination? Chosen people? These are biblical terms but in the NT, it is clear that those who are the flock are those who follow Christ.

I'm not sure how Mike has confused following Christ with following Talmudic teachings that can say that homosexuality is good, even not believing in God is good, that you can be a "good person" by doing lots of philanthropy and denying God's existence, and that Jesus is in hell covered in excrement... Mike wants us to not call that satanic? but when Muslems mention Christ, at least as "good" they are the devils? I mean really, aren't all these things just perversions, and man's way of working to God?

Romans teaches that all have fallen short of the glory of God.

Not sure why one group is supposed to be held higher than another.

At the end of the day it is our own sin we have to deal with? So lets keep using the sword to build the kingdom, because why?

thing is, all this is working against the national interests of pretty much any group we could think of.... this new world order march that we've been on.

People who claim to be Christian but...
You're surely not claiming to be a Christian yourself?

Not a chance, O Deceived One!

A Christian elevates and glorifies The Saviour.

You would claim him to be fickle, forgiving sin one minute and repenting of doing so the next!

You might be changeable and uncertain, but the Lord Jesus Christ knows ALL things, God having predestinated them beforehand. He knows beforehand the failings of his people, including their rebellion and unbelief before conversion and whatever happens after conversion; but the love of the Godhead towards them is from everlasting to everlasting, and nothing can separate them from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

BTW I think you are mistaking Calvinists for Dispensationalists. Reformed thinking is that the nation Israel has no more promises of God, and that all of God's people, whether Gentile or Jew in origin, wherever in the world they are, are The Israel of God. So to claim that Calvinists would show any favour to the Jews in the Middle East is surely a misunderstanding.

If Calvinists want to know Christ, I suggest they take your advice on going to the original writings of Jesus. Most posters here steer far clear of those words, claim they are "in code to the Jews," and prefer the words of Calvin's Institutes and a few wrested scriptures from Paul's epistles instead. Some like John 3:16 but ignore the preceding scriptures where Jesus says, "My sheep hear my voice and they follow me." That's not the same as "My sheep are chosen and all their sins are forgiven in advance."

It is possible to take the truth, which is the Bible, and wrest and twist it to create a religion more false and evil than anything written in The Satanic Bible by Lavey. That is what the proud, warmongering Calvinist forum posters have done to their shame.

People who claim to be Christian but are so spiritually blind as to advocate for WWIII and the death of families across the ocean so as to please the Jews and bring on the antichrist are Satan's best ambassadors, traitors to Jesus and enemies of the cross

Blessed Peacemaker, if you want to know Christ, you must go to the original works and understand what He taught, what prophecies He fulfilled, what miracles He carried out, and what work He accomp.. That is the four gospels. We are still finding first century copies, in some of the most unexpected places, excavations, etc, that are the same books we read today. They predate Muhammed by hundreds of years. Original source.

Religion has less to do with it. Being good as Muslms try to be, I know many Muslems have been offering help the Coptic Christians when the jihadists come to burn their properties and such.

I know the media portrays it one way because the evangelical political movement has actually been spreading jihadism in ME with their political support while they decry the insanity of jihadism

That's the crux of the problem.

Philippines is another example of a society being disturbed by muslm extremists, if one is honest, it is true that muhammed himself is an example of conquering through the sword.

For salvation, get to original source.

Christ, Son of God, died and rose from the dead. He offers forgiveness for sins. And there is a remnant who lives in this reality.

Muslims cannot "believe" the Bible, just as any reprobate cannot, and they demonstrate this by not seeking to live by the Word of God. Thus they do not have Faith.

As for Israel and the NT - God explains this and illustrates how HE has not ordained them to "believe" at this time.
"(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear) unto this day." Romans 11:8.

As for the Muslims. They worship idols such as the long dead sinner Mohammed, the heretical evil Koran and the Kaaba.

If YOU sincerely want salvation then God has ordained that it is ONLY through His Son. Go there or spend eternal life in hell with Mohammed and his followers.

Mike of N.Y., have you seen me say anything bad about either Nebraska senators, and one is even a woman! Now if I were in Tenn., I probably have some second thoughts about commenting about all the loose screws this particular Senator has! But, still yes, God picked him, no doubt to punish the people of Tenn., and to give the rest of us something to laugh about.

Amen brother, it is wonderful to be perfect in God's sight!

1 John 1:7-10 KJV
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Self-righteousness is one the greatest deceptions that sinners fall for.

Brother Pilgrim, you noticed that also.

Poor BP is very confused. He reckons that sins are not paid for in advance, so if you were born subsequent to the crucifixion, there is no hope for you.

However...

John 10:27-29 KJV
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

This sinner will never ever consider his own works as contributing to the immense work of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has done all things well, and who gives eternal life as a free gift through faith alone, already paid for, and given by God's grace to undeserving sinners.
