Federal Court Keeps 'In God, We Trust'

A challenge to America's national motto has been struck down by a federal district court. Dr. Michael Newdow and the Freedom From Religion Foundation sued to have "In God, We Trust" deleted from U.S. currency.

The court stated there was ample body of case law and they could only come to one conclusion. The order rejects arguments the motto violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment.

The American Center for Law and Justice represented 41 members of Congress and almost 90,000 Americans who opposed Newdow's lawsuit. ...

It does, John Y.? It's really a feel good political statement. Who saves you? It's not the goddess Mary, the saints, The Pope and the Papacy, etc, It is Christ and only Christ, this motto was meaningless the day it dreamed up, because it is "Only Scripture," "Only Christ," "Only Grace," "Only Faith," and "To God Alone Be Glory". So, for the motto to have any valid meaning for a Christian it has to say, "In Christ We Trust," not some nondescript god of a politician, no matter who or Who he thought it was reference to.

John Y., going to be sitting in a back row in some good Church tomorrow? e.g., Christian Fellowship Church. I can tell you right now, in the majority of IFB churches, they will greet you at the door, give you a chance to signal that your interested in Christianity, but will leave non-Christians alone, e.g., ...Roman Catholicism really...a Christian religion? -- No., if you're hearing, Red Hot Preaching get out!

Atheists are the only ones who think they are their own gods. And since atheists are a minority in the United States then the majority of Americans still believe "In God We Trust" refers to the God of the Bible.

Besides, Mike, it doesn't specify who the God is, Probably for most Americans money is their "God." So, the motto is spot on. Now, if the motto was to worth something it would have said, "In Christ We Trust!"
You don't know anything about the founding of the United States do you? If you did you would not make such a ridiculous statement that you don't know that this nation was founded upon the God of the Bible and that the phrase "In God We Trust" is referencing the One True God of the Bible.

The news says:
"The court stated there was ample body of case law and they could only come to one conclusion. The order rejects arguments the motto violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment."

Athiests aren't too swift. It should be obvious even to them that God is not a religion.
