'Don't Believe in God? Join the Club' Billboards Erected Throughout South Dakota

A South Dakota organization has placed seven billboards across several cities inviting those who do not believe in God to "join the club." The installation of all signs was completed this week with the purpose to announce the official launch of the Coalition for Reason, an alliance of seven non-theistic groups throughout the state aimed at reaching out to secular freethinkers.

"The main goal of these billboards is to let them know that they're not alone. Not only are they not alone in this conservative state, but there are groups that they can join to meet like-minded individuals," said Amanda Novotny, president of Siouxland Freethinkers, to The Christian Post. ...

I wonder if they believe that they will be in control somehow, that everything but an eternal hell are real, that they will be able to hang and party with their friends, etc. I don't know how it is that this doesn't seem to frighten them, to the point that they even mock and joke about it.
I can only put it down to such a spiritual blindness, that men cannot see certain spiritual things, Chris. But God has a remedy for it - quickening. Hence...

Ephesians 2:1 KJV
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins...

Of course, Paul was writing to Christians at Ephesus, who had experienced spiritual life coming from God in his grace and mercy.

Hey, thanks. I don't assume that my thoughts were a news flash to anyone, but I have pondered this question for a long time because I couldn't make any scense out of it. Now I have and it seems to fit (I think).
Boy, hate God? Actually hate him? Boy, oh boy!

Wonderfully put Christopher!!

"And because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a worthless mind to do what is morally wrong. They are filled with all unrighteousness, evil, greed, and wickedness. They are full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, arrogant, proud, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, and unmerciful. Although they know full well God’s just sentence — that those who practice such things deserve to die — they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them." (Romans 1:28-32)

US, I was thinking about this a little deeper yesterday and have concluded that athiests are not athiests at all. They are a club filled with members who actively and willfully believe in God, but actually hate Him. Your point was taken well because it was my precise thought yesterday...why in the world fight against and spend small fortunes to fight against something that doesn't even exist? Why not just mumble, "oh, those foolish Christians...believing in a God...ha-ha...fools", and go about their business? Well, this makes absolutely no scense whatsoever unless they really are not even athiests at all, but rather true believers who simply hate God with an unbridled passion.
What do you think? This was skrt of an epiphany for me yesterday...they must be believers, basically controlled by demons to shut down and erase all things God...
Great thoughts, as usual, brother Christopher

Why spend tons of money debunking something that doesn't exist? If there is no God why would you advertise against Him? That would be like marching in protest against the Easter bunny. There own works condemn them

Although Satan is described as a roaring lion praise God we know he is a defeated foe. These secular groups are doing the work of the one they serve while dead in their sin and deserving of Hell. Yet for Christ's sake and His glory alone we should pray while there is still time that the Holy Spirit would work in their hearts and open their eyes and convict them of their sin.

Those who hate Christians speak their fathers language; they tell lies and there is no light in them. “This, then, is the judgment: The light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who practices wicked things hates the light and avoids it, so that his deeds may not be exposed. But anyone who lives by the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be shown to be accomplished by God.” (John 3:19-21).

See John 8:38-47 for Jesus' explanation on why the world hates Him. Just one example...

Why spend any time or money arguing against the belief in God? Why don't they believe as they choose and just keep to themselves instead of actively trying to infect the new generation?
Just thinking out loud...
That is what I have wondered about atheists why they care if others believe.

"The main goal of these billboards is to let them know they are not alone."

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye into the strait gate: for wide is the gate. and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be that go thereat

yea I'd say they aren't alone.
