Among Christians, White Mainline Protestants Least Likely to Believe Abortion Is Morally Wrong

About half of Americans believe abortion is morally wrong, according to a new study from Pew Research Center. Among the major combined race and religious demographic groups, white mainline Protestants were the least likely, and white evangelical Protestants were the most likely, to say that abortion is morally wrong.

The responses varied widely, though, among major religious groups. About three in four white evangelicals, 75 percent, said that abortion was morally wrong, followed by Hispanic Catholics, 64 percent, black Protestants, 58 percent, and white Catholics, 53 percent. White mainline protestants were the only religious group for which a minority, 38 percent, said that abortion is morally wrong. Among those with no religious affiliation, only one in four, 25 percent, said abortion is morally wrong. ...

Thank you Mr Tressel. Does that mean I can call Mr Calvin Frenchy again? Or do you not like changing monikers?

Someone said that when John Calvin appeared before a council, and they asked him his name, he replied with head bowed, "My name is Bond - John Bond."

The gathering all stood to their feet, and declared, "But you are Calvin, the great theologian!"

Calvin grinned a little bit and said, "Och aye, laddy, you're right! But I'm far too humble to use mine own name!"

And then Calvin asked, "And what are your names, pray?"

And they said, "Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich."

At which John Bond burst out laughing, and said, "My, what a humble group of fine upstanding men!"

And the council were mighty pleased with such an accolade from the great man, and from then on, they all changed their names by deed poll and lived in humility all their lives.

As for little old me, my name is John, and I live in the UK.

And I think you are off your rocker, and need meds to control your bizarre behaviour.

Now when you go to church it is to worship the Lord. Therefore the amateur dramatics of your human sing-song entertainment of sinners uninspired religious hymns is blasphemous. Try sticking to the Scriptures in future instead of the papal antichrists followers religious lyrics.

2Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
= So don't use mans corrupt version but stay with the words and doctrines which have come from the inspiration of God. Psalms only!!! That worships the Lord. Seeking another alternative produced by sinners is rejection of God and His Holy Writ.

Reformed Christians use the Psalms!
Not the man made hymns which reject the Scriptures.

You've spelled my moniker wrong.
Hymn singers who reject the Scriptures to employ the human entertainment of music and sing songs - are "happy" to do anything in their pursuit of theatrics.

While I would agree that singing ONLY Psalms would be best, I wouldnt be foolish enough to call Reformed Synods using the aforementioned Doxology as 'nominal' Christians

Jesus, the very thought of Thee
With sweetness fills my breast;
But sweeter far Thy face to see,
And in Thy presence rest.

I suppose Trestle Table will ask me if I'm Catholic for being happy to sing this hymn.

But then, maybe he hasn't experienced the sweetness of the presence of Jesus in his life.

You discounting God again in the process jpw??? Or is it you just don't trust Him???

You must be one of those Roman Catholic or Arminian supporters who believe God to be ineffectual without human cooperation.

You can't be accused of being a liberal if you use (b). Only if you support (a) can you be accused of being a liberal. "Conservatives" can now have their cake and eat it too.

Isn't that sweet.
In Robins religion they teach that the birth control pill also controls sin and the capacity to repent within the poor sinner.

Birth control pill prevents the elect from salvation???

What do ya think eh. Is he a Roman cufflink??

Deuteronomy 8:10 When thou hast eaten and art full, then thou shalt bless the LORD thy God for the good land which he hath given thee.

Deuteronomy 8:11 Beware that thou forget not the LORD thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day: .. Deuteronomy 8:13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; Deuteronomy 8:14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; ....

Deuteronomy 8:19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

Anybody that does not know that killing the unborn child is murder and therefore vile sin - is not Christian.

Perhaps what is really wrong here is education of church goers who claim to be Christian but are taught religious simplism. The church of the nominal.

Many today go to church on Sunday and don't pray or read Scripture yet they are convinced that is all that is required of them. They tend to be convinced by the worldly convictions of the fallen world.

Mainline Protestants have become apostate. They don't believe in the inerrant Word of God and they have embraced lies as truth. They are also taught that abortion isn't morally wrong and they send their false prophets called "Clergy for Choice" to the death camps to support and encourage women to abort their children.
