Most Christians can't defend their beliefs about the Bible!

According to the press release of Evangelical Press Association, throughout Christendom, especially in evangelical circles, the faithful are encouraged, even expected to be able to give a defense for their beliefs that the Bible is a divinely inspired book and a reliable source of timeless training on how to live the Christian life.

Yet in our post-Christian culture, belief in the Bible as a reliable authority is no longer taken for granted, says Vince Latorre, author of the new book The Bible Can Be Proven.

"What if your teenager comes to you saying their religion professor said that the Bible is just fiction written by men, and is not really the Word of God? Do you know how to give them good answers? How do you stand confidently on God's Word if you wilt at the first hint of question or challenge from even a well-meaning skeptic?" asks Latorre. ...

There is a whole field in defending Christianity, something that people like John Ankerberg have really been doing all their lives. It is obvious that Jesus arose from the dead, which no other religious leader has done, q.v., Facts Concerning the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

John Ankerberg has also probably improved on C.S. Lewis' Trilemma, Ankerberg's comments can be found here, The Truth About the Founder of Christianity/Part 9.

Again what you need is the ability to present the The Roman Road with perhaps some minor variations for Roman Catholics, Witnessing Effectively to Roman Catholics (PDF) and Jews , See Acts 13:15-42 at .

John U.K., I thought perhaps you settled on The 21st Century King James Version of the Holy Bible (KJ21®) which dutifully copies the errors of the KJV?

Thank you Dolores.

Yes, I understand your point, and it is a shame that not one publisher has ever come up with a simply modernised KJV.

The other name I was thinking at the time was Timothy, but didn't want to wander too far off. I listened to something that mentioned Pauls scribe just recently.

You're half right, Christopher.

Paul's letter was his own work, but he did have a scribe to write it.....not Luke, though.

I wonder if anyone can get it without looking it up.

Wow! Do ever believe in miracles or what!

Time Travel
to go back to when Jehovah gave this word to Joshua (likely in Hebrew)
and hand him a copy of the KJV in English so he could be obedient to your teaching.

Absolutely Amazing!

"Today's New International Version (TNIV) is an English translation of the Bible developed by the Committee on Bible Translation. The CBT also developed the New International Version in the 1970s. The TNIV is based on the NIV. It is explicitly Protestant like its predecessor; the deuterocanonical books are not part of the translation. The TNIV New Testament was published March 2002. The complete Bible was published February 2005. The rights to the text are owned by Biblica. Zondervan publishes the TNIV in North America. Hodder & Stoughton publish the TNIV in the UK and European Union.

Among other differences from the NIV, the TNIV uses gender-neutral language to refer to people. Confessional terms for this kind of language are such as gender-inclusive. Two examples of this kind of translation decision are found in Genesis and Matthew:

Genesis 1:27 reads, "So God created human beings in his own image." Older translations use the word "man" to translate the word ’adam employed in the Hebrew language, the same word used as the proper name of the first man married to the first woman, Eve.
