Richard Dawkins' Anti-Muslim Tweets Spark Furor

Richard Dawkins responded to outrage over his controversial anti-Muslim tweets by calling the incident a "storm in a teacup."

The outspoken atheist started a Twitter furor by writing on August 8: All the world's Muslims have fewer Nobel Prizes than Trinity College, Cambridge. They did great things in the Middle Ages, though.

"All the world's Muslims have fewer Nobel Prizes than Trinity College, Cambridge." That's probably the first thing that Dawkins ever said that I could agree with. And if his factual observation is so annoying to Muslims, why don't they take their heads out of the sand and found some universities?

It's hardly a surprise when a socialist finds fault with democracy. But as US rightly points out, a democracy we ain't. It would be nice if the politicians in Washington knew.

Which is why we are not a democracy. The founding fathers were against a democracy. I believe Franklin said it was like a wolves and sheep voting what to have for lunch. The word is nowhere in the Dec. of Ind. or Constitution. Great article by Cato Institute on the subject.

Wow, ain't that the truth. If Christianity can't take ridicule and criticism, then it would be as false religion as Islam, Muhammad’s critics and their deaths--Why the West must protect freedom of speech. The greatest danger to Christianity has always come from within, such found in the growth of Roman Catholic Authority (PDF) and The Papacy.

I would suggest you listen to the series on false teachers by Gil Rugh, e.g., Influence of False Teachers.

Speaking out against Islam is a crime? Well speaking out against christianity should be a crime too.... Oh. Wait, I forgot .. It's ok to blaspheme Jesus. The government says so. They bend over and grab the ankles for Islam though

Gentlemen, I take a slightly different approach to the reaction to Mr. Dawkins, in that Muhammad’s critics and their deaths--Why the West must protect freedom of speech. Now he hasn't done nearly as good as his fellow atheist did in Jefferson Versus the Muslim Pirates and a more direct interesting commentary by him of what was/is happening in England,
Martin Amis wrote:
There’s a definite urge—don’t you have it?—to say, “The Muslim community will have to suffer until it gets its house in order.” What sort of suffering? Not letting them travel. Deportation—further down the road. Curtailing of freedoms. Strip-searching people who look like they’re from the Middle East or from Pakistan. . . . Discriminatory stuff, until it hurts the whole community and they start getting tough with their children. . . . They hate us for letting our children have sex and take drugs—well, they’ve got to stop their children killing people.

Such outrage against the poor, misunderstood Muslims, yet, speak out against Biblical Christianity...make Christ the butt of late night jokes, and God, some drunk in a Sunday comic and what do you get...nothing, not a peep. Irreverence against the God of the universe is a non issue, but Muhammed? Allah, the moon god? Extremist Muslims? That's hate speech.
