Time Magazine Asks: Who Needs Kids Anyway? Extols the Child-Free Life

I miscarried my first child less than a month ago, so I see babies or lack of babies everywhere.

When the latest issue of TIME arrived at my home (it was free, okay, shut up) with the words “THE CHILDFREE LIFE” emblazoned across the cover, I just sort of rolled my eyes. “When having it all means not having children,” read the sub-head. I looked at the cover photo of a young, relaxed couple lounging on the beach. The woman wore giant sunglasses and a little Mona Lisa smile that I guess is supposed to communicate her disdain for her uterus and her utter satisfaction with her size-4, cellulite-free, vacation-filled life.

Cover Photo Lady has lots of company: the American birth rate has literally never been lower in our recorded history. That includes the Great Depression, when people were too busy being Greatly Depressed to have babies. TIME tells us that the birth rate declined 9% between 2007 and ...

And: There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears has not reached perfection in love." 1 John 4:18

Iddybit, your words are frightening and sad! They revolve around man, man's corrupted wisdom and man's comfort zone. What about a God who stretches us, grows us and loves us? Life isn't about what we want or what makes us happy - it is about bringing glory to God in our lives through obedience to His words. True joy is found only in and through God. The fear and distrust towards a God who says children are a reward and blessing from Him floods through your words... There are so many twisted assumptions in your comment that I simply cannot fathom these "potential parents" have lives that include a personal knowledge of Christ.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment." 2 Timothy 1:7
"Unless the Lord builds a house, its builders labor over it in vain; unless the Lord watches over a city, the watchman stays alert in vain. In vain you get up early and stay up late, working hard to have enough food — yes, He gives sleep to the one He loves. Sons are indeed a heritage from the Lord, children, a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the sons born in one’s youth. Happy is the man who has filled his quiver with them. Such men will never be put to shame when they speak with their enemies at the city gate." Psalms 127

What if these women are too medically unstable to have children? Saving any child born to them a life of agonizing pain? What if God made them sterile? We know the Catholic Church is against artificially making babies? What if a woman knows that she does not have the patience or the support system to care for a child...not near family, the husband is not bonded with the baby or has to work 2 or more jobs to pay for all these children they have? What if the idea of raising a child gives them a panic attack because they might nit do it right. thise that choose this have given more thought to it than how most have given to becoming mothers. Shouldn't children be born into a loving home that wants them? That will raise them into upstanding people that will make a positive contribution in this world? I have cone across quite a few people that will say if they did it all over again they would never have gad children, it just takes a strong person. You are only lonely because you want to be. From a hard working non vacationing child free woman

If most Christians would have large families at some future time we will be in the majority again. As these liberal, abortion loving, abominable lifestyle accepting non believers will eventually die off.

The health benefits of circumcision Male Circumcision are well-known. Besides if it's good enough for Jesus and the Apostles its good enough for me!
ISBE wrote:
CHILD-BEARING:

child'-bar-ing: Only in 1Ti 2:15: "She shall be saved through her (m "the") child-bearing" (dia tes teknogonias). The reference is to the calling of woman as wife and mother, as her ordinary lot in life, and to the anxieties, pains and perils of maternity, as the culmination and representation of the penalties woman has incurred because of the Fall (Ge 3:16). "She shall be saved by keeping faithfully and simply to her allotted sphere as wife and mother" (Dummelow). The preposition dia is not used here instrumentally, as though child-bearing were a means of her salvation, but locally, as in 1Co 3:15, "saved so as through fire," where life is saved by rushing through the flames....

they want us to stop having kids. its eugenics. they want to bring the population down. Bill Gates is adamant about it. to "save" the planet, or something?? people should listen to his TEDS presentation where he laid out how this would be accomplished (that is up to 90% reduction of population) through his vaccine programs and reproductive health (where China is held up as the model, I add).

this goes along with agenda 21 and the feeding of the dependent eaters on gms (they are so helpless, just mass produce substandards), as the abortionist I talked with said that people would be sick and on synthetics, and also we know that Gates has put his efforts into converting Africa to these gms that Europe and East Asia are rejecting.

and so agenda 21 has within it rezoning, as we see being carried out in local govs across the country, and the goal that people will live in cities.

in other words, the farms will be owned by the NWO order we've built, and the smaller population living in urban centers.

the maps have already been produced and small farmers reporting constant pressure put on them, I've known companies under constant scrutiny, while producing stellar products... it happens before our very eyes.

Nature has no worries if humans become extinct. We just destroy nature anyway, so what's there for nature to thank us? No kids? It's okay!!!

Once it dawns on the average American that she can reduce her carbon footprint, enjoy a jet set lifestyle AND be even more happily married, she'll gladly vote in a constitutional amendment enshrining child-free as a protected right and conscripting a designated demographic of females into an army of forced fertility and delivery. Whereas the vast majority of male babies are circumcised before leaving the hospital, your baby girl will have her tubal ligation before going home.
