5 Women Missionaries Beaten Publicly in India for Sharing Gospel

The women, all leaders in the Gospel for Asia (GFA)-sponsored Women’s Fellowship ministry, had been sharing with store owners and shoppers when one man demanded to know what they were doing. The assault began with a powerful slap to the face of one woman and continued to the others, one of whom was isolated and surrounded by five men.

“Jesus promised persecuting and hardships,” says Daniel Punnose, vice president of GFA (gfa.org). “These young ladies see it worth facing the beatings in order to share the love of Christ.”

The women, Bansari, Jaladhi, Kuyil, Sunita and Viveka, were beaten on their faces, ears and heads. All report that no bystanders came to their defense during the ordeal and that they miraculously escaped from their multiple attackers and were delivered from further harm. ...

Thank you all so much for praying.
My meeting with our brother went very well. We covered, or at least touched on a lot of issues and the Lord gave me the grace and wisdom to say what I needed to say clearly and to leave it with my brother to take the time to check and examine things for himself and afterwards to part on friendly and peaceable terms.
Again thank you all so much.
I am very thankful to God how it went.
Thanks for your update! Praise God that He worked things for His glory. What a great example you are of a caring brother, may God grant further fruit in your labor of love. (Hebrews 6:10)

Thank you and everyone else that is praying. I just spoke to the brother I want to speak with. Initially he was hesitant (if that is the right word) to agree to meet and listen to the matter I am concerned with but called back and set a meeting time for tomorrow.
Wow! Do I see I have so much learning and growing to do in the area of relationships within the body of Christ when individual's personal preferences and ignorance or avoidance of things affecting doctrine vs. false teachings that are going on and need to be dealt with are at stake.
I believe it is safe to say there are many in the family of God that are frustrated and hearbroken of the flood of popular, ear tickling false teachings that are sabotaging our churches from being and doing all that Christ would have us to be and do.
In our prayers brother. May God grant you the wisdom and give the brother a heart to receive the truth. Appreciate you fulfilling Galatians 6:1, many times that is not done.

Michael H., yes the way you are approaching your concerns, meeting with a brother shows your love and concern for the gospel and the brethren. and yes, it does weigh heavy to see what is lost by these false teachings, even the freedom of religion itself, and the Lord reminded me last night, through some teachings of Wurmbrand, that institutions will fail us, but Christ will not.

Great comment, John.
My only regret is, with all the daily trials of life, that I don't begin each morning with the same thought as my waking thought.

Lurker

First let me say I so very much appreciate everyone who encourages us to intervene and to come to the defense of anyone being attacked by a mob, especially those who have reminded us that in the Providence of God He can put us into circumstances where He wants us to take action and not sit idly by.

So, For those who would be willing to PRAY FOR ME I believe I am in such a situation (thankfully with no one being beaten) but nevertheless a matter of large concern where I feel compelled to speak with a brother in a matter regarding a modern day false teacher and his seductive false teachings and behavior. [it is someone who would NOT be accepted on SermonAudio]

To me the false teaching(s) involved are clear cut, How to address a brother in such a matter is such I so greatly need the grace, wisdom, compassion and understanding of God that by the grace of God I might be faithful to Gal 6:1 and other similar passages.

So if you are willing please pray for me, I will post if it goes well or not.

Primary and secondary causes again.

The sinner is not aware of this need, so. God acts (first cause) to provide the sinner with wisdom as to the enlightened path. 'Sovereign' Grace in action. The sinner cannot do it by himself since he is in sinful darkness. Or as the Bible (God) puts it, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1Cor 2:14.

As brother US pointed out..... you've lost the plot.

I obviously am not Luker, he has much more wisdom and insight than me, but if I may answer the question. No that is not the point. This thread has not been about the sinners response to the call of God to salvation. The distortion that has been in this thread is that of equating fatalism with the sovereignty of God. It has been about why take up an offering to help those in famine in Judea (Acts 11:27-30) when it is God's will they go hungry. It is why is it called pure religion (James 1:27)to help the fatherless and widows in their affliction when God sovereignly willed them to be afflicted. It is about the condescending attitude from the fatalism crowd that they somehow have a corner on the truth and the rest of us are ignorant. You, my friend, are changing the topic of discussion. The only person I found in all of SA lately that doesn't believe in Divine intervention in the salvation of sinners is John for Jesus and I don't think he is in this thread. You are barking up the wrong tree, Luker's only point about salvation was that you can't be baptized into as an infant, which your own post would bear out because God does not provide wisdom to salvation to an infant

Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power"

No! Neither the prophets nor the Apostles were Arminian. They did trust completely in a sovereign Lord, and taught that.

I know its difficult for you to grasp the sovereignty of God and mans responsibility. But try to remember mans responsibility is not 'disagreement' with God. May the Lord bring you into His whole counsel.

I thought you knew that Presbyterian is always right.

We don't have to take a word and change its definition to create a new denomination. We take the word directly from the Bible and keep its meaning. That's always best with the Word of God.

Looks like David was an Arminian, what with using the Arminian "if." Who knew?

Not my fault if your history is distorted. You might want to change your moniker as you don't have anything from the Scriptures to back up your views. Especially because affusion was never found in Scripture, always meant to dip, to dunk, to immerse. Why do think they transliterated the word? Because to translate it would have done away with their unbiblical practice. But alas, I know it is futile to try and show you this, maybe God will be gracious and open your eyes and heart to the truth.

Try and receive the sovereignty of God.
"Acts 11:24 God that made the world and ALL THINGS therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, AS THOUGH HE NEEDED ANY THING, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and ALL THINGS; 26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and HATH DETERMINED the TIMES before appointed, and the BOUNDS of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: 28 For IN HIM WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
He surely did make all things, including the brain, which he sovereignly expects us to use rightly. Nothing peculiarly Calvinist about that. Just biblical.
