Atheists Lobbying for Their Own Military Chaplains
Believe it or not, a campaign is gaining steam to introduce atheist chaplains into the ranks of the military's spiritual counselors. Last month Democrats in Congress sponsored an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would have allowed for godless chaplains, but, thankfully, it went nowhere. Now, reported Fox News, more level-headed legislators have introduced another amendment that would require chaplains to be aligned with a faith tradition â such as Christianity or Judaism.
âWhen it comes to the idea of an atheist chaplain, which is an oxymoron â it's self-contradictory â what you're really doing is saying that we're going to replace true chaplains with non-chaplain chaplains,â said the new amendment's sponsor, Rep. John Fleming (R-La.) âIt's just total nonsense, the idea of having a chaplain who is an atheist.â...
You should like what is said for the finish of the summary for the second sermon,
Gil Rugh said or, wrote: .... The armies of Egypt, Assyria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia will be destroyed, believers in Christ in those areas will take part in the Millennium. Remember, everyone is the enemy of God before they are saved.
Jesus is unique among all false gods. all false covenants are against Christ, making a mockery of his death and resurrection.
John Hagee wants to tell you exactly what to think about Iq, another false pope.
I had to quit after first 3 minutes of misinformation. you know this stuff has been disproven already? what is with these guys that they do not want to correct information that may give a bad light to the name of Christ?.... their love of the brethren is waxed cold.
AQ -- McCain was just in Syria calling them freedom fighters -- young men and boys bussed in and paid to go into Syria. I thought they were the good guys in Libya. Which is it? whatever is needed at the moment.
We are the German church of WWII.
swindled. conned. wormed in our hearts and taken away from our Master.
Anyway, Mr. Scofield apparently became a better man, though hardly a better one with his second marriage q.v., C. I. Scofield when he did his annotated Bible. No one does or at least take annotations of Scofield, Ryrie, or MacArthur as Gospel, but if they are sensible there is no reason to take what is true from them, He is not the father of Dispensations thought, (listen to Dispensations) In fact, for Dispensationalists they may want to look over the chart at--Dispensational Theologians (PDF) Chart . You might want to look at a short commentary by Dr. Vlach on What is Dispensationalism?
Yes, jpw, apparently we have very different opinions, and just as I have recently put up on another thread, I will put it up here. Actually Mr. Prager's thoughts really do represent Reformed thinking more than Dispensationalism, q.v., A Short History Of Dispensationalism. I rather doubt that Dennis realized that, when he penned his thoughts in What does Judeo-Christian Mean?. However, many in the Reformed movement should like what he said, I would think.
If you are in a Reformed Church, jpw, you might at least want to look over his commentary.
Atheist chaplains? still, Bah Humbug! Who are they going to model their philosophy after that of James Stuart Mill? Oh, notice I said philosophy not theology which is what a chaplain is suppose to have.
Jim -- thank you for your thoughts -- they make my point very well, showing the different ways of thinking. I hope many read this thread and prayerfully consider the implications, and check things out for themselves.
So, as I said, it may not have lasted long but a Bill of Rights should have been placed into the Iraqi and Afghani Constitutions. It may have been ignored, and removed as soon as American/Allied troops left, but still the wars would have had a good purpose.
Jesus "you will be known by the love of the brethren"
Jim, something I see:
the assumption that the information was correct because B was an honorable man, which he wasn't.... (from your comment)
and both you and I know the information was not correct.
in the least, JM and BJ and others were fooled.
yet, lets look at the title of your link. "the true Christian Position on War" -- apparently I am supposed to take his word for it, even though his basis is misinformation.
yet he is saying that he is speaking for God and this must happen. what? red flag!
the callers and those interviewed from Iraq are warning that this will lead to the mass death of innocents.
so is this "God's Position" on Iraq?
I've been surrounded by dispensationalists and this is the secret for many... they think this was for Israel and so they don't love the brethren of Iraq. that's what it comes down to for many.... evangelicals have their pope and rabbit's foot, or mary rosary. if I "fill in the blank" I'm right with God. (now that I've been "so good", wait for rapture).
setting ourselves in direct conflict with Christ's teachings. John Mac is not my pope. Read Revelations - God's with those beheaded for Christ.
MS...hearing this from a person who has been shown the truth makes it very understandable why this is such an important issue with you all. I regret even saying anything about something I know nothing about. I am learning though to let God lead in these matters on this forum.
Dolores, Just wanted to add my 2 cents concerning the roman catholic religion. My husband and my self were by Gods great mercy saved out of that apostate religion. All our family is RC and our greatest desire is that the Lord will open their eyes and ears that they will hear the gospel of grace. They are very religious but do not know the Savior. They think their religion will save them. So all of that to say this...some of us on this site who have been saved out of Romanism are very zealous to warn others of the dangers of this apostate religion which mimics Christianity. Hope that helps explain why we come on a little strong at times! The web sites that bro.Michael gave you are excellent...very sound! All of Gods best to you.
I so appreciate your help on trying to understand the wrongs concerning the Catholic church. I really am in the dark about all this and Christropher thanks for yor comments about the grannies that go to hell which was their choice of course. God did not want anyone to go to Hell and Jesus paid the price so we wouldn't have to go. I'm going to look up all those web sites you gave me Michael to better understand and everyone of you for your prayers for my husband I am so thankful and gratiful.
if he cannot visit Iraq and see the fruit of his "protection" (that Jim usually affectionately calls the banana wars -- are you double minded?) -- if he cannot go to the areas where DU was used, and stand with the mothers and interview them and hear them cry in great thankfulness, then he either needs to repent and relieve Christ's name from this Zionism, or retire.
where's all the interviews from the Iraqi Christians thanking us for disrupting their society and causing them to flee into Syria (who are now having to flee from the western funded rebels!) -- and God isn't paying attention to this? why? because we are really that special?
