Vatican prelate in 'gay romance' with Swiss guard

The Vatican's "gay lobby" was back in the headlines on Friday after the alleged exposure of a homosexual prelate appointed by Pope Francis to a key position at the Vatican bank.

The Italian weekly L'Espresso said prelate Battista Ricca had gay relationships during his time at the Vatican embassy of Montevideo in Uruguay as well as an affair with a Swiss guard which ultimately saw him sent back to Rome in disgrace.

Vatican expert for L'Espresso Sandro Magister said Ricca provided lodgings and a pay check for captain Patrick Haari in 1999 and was once left badly beaten after trawling notorious gay hangouts before his behaviour saw him transferred out of Montevideo in 2000. ...

Sounds very confusing, John Y. You should read it again. But it also means that whoever follows what you said, isn't a Catholic. He only imagines himself so.

That is totally false if a Catholic who is Born Again rejects and repudiates the unscriptural Catholic doctrines, adheres only to the scriptural Catholic doctrines, does not participate in the scriptural parts to the Mass and only participates in the scriptural parts to the Mass. If a Catholic who is Born Again by reason of embracing Jesus as their Savior by asking Jesus to become their Savior will remain saved if they adhere only to the scriptural Catholic doctrines and only participate in the scriptural parts to the Mass irrespective if they do not leave the Catholic Church and do not unite with an Evangelical Protestant Church. Nowhere in the Bible is membership in any church including Evangelical Protestant Churches mentioned as being a requirement for salvation and going to Heaven and avoiding Hell.

Speaking as one who was born and raised in Romanism, and then gloriously awakened by the gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ when I read Gods Word enlightened by the Holy Spirit I saw the lies, idolatry, paganism, and unbiblical practises and now tell all who will give ear....FLEE!!!

Well...I hope I would have anyway. I guess, like anyone else, I may have remained willfully ignorant. Its an easy thing to say what one would have done while on the outside looking in. Not unlike those who say they would have never taken a bite of the infamous fruit. Really? Hmmm...can we really be so certain? All I say is that I hope I wouldn't have, etc, to questions like that.

IF I was a Roman Catholic: I would have left the one true church long ago. I would know that it was not truly the one true church, and I would have come to this conclusion simply by witnessing their fruits.
I am beyond confused at how anyone can feel good about remaining within and actually believing they are in fact the one true church with its leaders being appointed by God Himself.
The Roman machine has people fooled because they don't read the Word like the Bereans, and they live in fear, believing they will go to Hell for eternity should they ever part ways.
Doctrinal heretics, Pagan ritual carryovers from Constantine, Queen of Heaven worship, and a long, long, history of homosexuality, pedophilia, and mass murder.

I concur, and it reminded me of the text:

2 Thessalonians 2:4 KJV
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

of which Matthew Henry said:

"As God was in the temple of old, and worshipped there, and is in and with his church now, so the antichrist here mentioned is some usurper of God's authority in the Christian church, who claims divine honours; and to whom can this better apply than to the bishops of Rome, to whom the most blasphemous titles have been given, as Dominus Deus noster papa - Our Lord God the pope; Deus alter in terrâ - Another God on earth; Idem est dominium Dei et papae - The dominion of God and the pope is the same?"

Phew!

Good posts.
Reminds me of:

Yeah, clerical celibacy sure doesn't help, Jim, but I believe that these people are homosexual pedophiles to begin with. I believe it is their nature and would have committed these crimes outside of the church. Very seldom have we heard any cases involving little girls, or women. I believe these shady, creepy, sexual deviants went into seminary as homosexuals and child predators because, at the time, the church was considered a safe haven; a secret, hus-hush, club where they could safely carryout their deepest, darkest desires. They would still enjoy this perk if all the children had not began coming forward, sueing the church, etc. Nothing would be different right now. On the rare occassion that a child spoke up about molestation or rape, they would still just be moving priests around so as not to disturb their age old child sex abuse ring.

Yes, Chris, and it won't get any better with Clerical Celibacy. Now a former Catholic now Baptist pastor had this to say about the Romish priesthood, “Bless me, Father....”? [PDF Part 1] and
“Bless me, Father...”? Part 2 [PDF]
.

As Greg pointed out in Part 2 there is only one high Priest Christ, Gil Rugh goes into greater detail about that in his sermons of The Inadequacy of the Levitical [and Roman Catholic!] Priesthood and The Superiority of Christ's Priesthood. Indeed almost all of his sermons in the Hebrews series being done now have to do with the superiority of Christ's priesthood compared any of man's ideas on making a priesthood.

Wow, that's a hefty margin, but given recent history, along with the current pope saying that there is a society of homosexuals imbedded deep within Vatican walls, I would assume the higher end is more accurate.

Oh, but queerness seems to be very low on the list of the average Catholic's concerns.

Considering we have heard the news of Roman Catholic seminaries churning out homosexuals and being influenced by these evil people, it is no wonder that we now see them in the headlines.

Even Wikipedia has its article on this;
quote;
"Despite this, evidence from several studies has shown that there are higher than average numbers of homosexual men (active and non-active) within the Catholic priesthood and higher orders; estimates presented in Donald B. Cozzens' book The Changing Face of the Priesthood range from 23–58%." Wikipedia on RCC homosexuality

His Holiness Dalai Lama (7 million twitter followers -- most followed religious leader in the world) made a complete reversal in the past few years. Only heterosexualilty was his teaching until a few years ago. Now, even Buddhists have embraced same-sex love.

When a minister elects to stay in the closet with his sinful lifestyle (this prelate, Haggard, etc), then only God can help him.

Well, one of Satan's greatest lies; priestly confession, is why this continues to go on and why the church is bursting with homosexuals within...sin today, confess and be absolved tomorrow. I believe this is why homosexuals gravitate to the Roman machine. They can receive forgiveness at any given moment and they know that they are protected under the churches umbrella of secrecy.

Good post.
This heartbreaking example of what false religion germinates in the lives of unregenerate people ought to cause all of us to soberly consider that apart from genuine true Biblical Christianity, genuine new birth in the Holy Spirit and a real fear of the LORD, such things (evil) can flourish in increasingly apostate cowardly Protestant, Evangelical and Non God-fearing churches as well. Why if churches that profess they are Bible believing yet continue to go on in known, willfull sin and disobedience to the word of God won't all sorts of sinners, enemies of the cross gravitate to their/our (I hate to use the word) sacred mega campuses just like homosexuals have so often gravitated to Rome?
