"The sins of others work for good, as they work in us the stronger opposition against sin. " The wicked have made void thy law; therefore I love thy commandments " (Psalm cxix. 126, 127). David had never loved God's law so much, if the wicked had not set themselves so much against it. The more violent others are against the truth, the more valiant the saints are for it. Living fish swim against the stream; the more the tide of sin comes in, the more the godly swim against it. The impieties of the times provoke holy passions in the saints; that anger is without sin, which is against sin. The sins of others are as a whetstone to set the sharper edge upon us; they whet our zeal and indignation against sin the more." (Thomas Watson)(A Divine Cordial)
Now, that's laughable quoting what the Romish bishops of England and Wales say on the matter. The Romish laity follows what the Romish bishops do, q.v., UK's top cardinal accused of 'inappropriate acts' by priests rather then what they say--this article shows an accurate example of the "do-say" yin and yang of the Romish Church. I would suppose the laity in GB cares no more about queerness than the American laity does, considering the number of bent priests, bishops, and cardinals there is.
So, Queen Liz, I often said I respected as an official head of state, really can't be blamed for an obscene parliament, which not only has quite a few Romish members but probably even more of the Catholic-lite Church the Anglican as well. It would be great if one Anglophone nation would at least recognize The Secular Case Against Gay Marriage. You can't expect any morality out of the Romish-Anglican axis.
Yes, it would be great if even some minor royals (have any?) would become Fundamentalist Christian.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10: “Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
The new Act breaks the existing legal links between the institution of marriage and sexual complementarity. With this new legislation, marriage has now become an institution in which openness to children, and with it the responsibility on fathers and mothers to remain together to care for children born into their family unit, are no longer central. That is why we were opposed to this legislation on principle.
Statement by the President and Vice-President of the Catholic Bishops Conference of England and Wales
Chris, unless someone in GB corrects she's entirely a figurehead monarch. She just rubber stamps everything, from appointment of the Archbishop, to who gets knighted, and of course what laws are passed.
Now, admittedly there could be some very good Baptist churches in London, and she could vote with her feet, q.v., Why a Good Person Can Vote Against Same-Sex Marriage. I don't know that any of the Royals who are Christian. It's a pity she isn't one and also a pity none of her offspring were raised in a Christian environment.
"This is a historic moment that will resonate in many people’s lives,” Equalities Minister Maria Miller said in a statement"
The previous United Kingdom of Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed by God.
That was an "historic moment" too.
God's justice is consistent if anything.
Come Lord Jesus, come soon.
Watch this space.
Gen 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:"
Apparently their descendents have who are a part of the British heritage. I think only Australia amongst the colonies and former colonies (and the Mother country) hasn't passed laws to support depravity?
1 Corinthians 6 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.---NASB
It's official: Queen Elizabeth grants royal assent, legalizes gay marriage in England and Wales
"This generation must get deadly serious about the problem of biblical illiteracy, or a frighteningly large number of Americans — many church members included — will go on thinking that Sodom and Gomorrah lived happily ever after." -Albert Mohler
