Microsoft helped NSA, FBI access user info: Guardian

Microsoft Corp worked closely with U.S. intelligence services to help them intercept users' communications, including letting the National Security Agency circumvent email encryption, the Guardian reported on Thursday.

Citing top-secret documents provided by former U.S. spy contractor Edward Snowden, the UK newspaper said Microsoft worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the NSA to ease access via Prism - an intelligence-gathering program uncovered by the Guardian last month - to cloud storage service SkyDrive.

Microsoft also helped the Prism program collect video and audio of conversations conducted via Skype, Microsoft's online chat service, the newspaper added. ...

When I think of the out of this world technology that we have at our disposal today, not to mention all that we are not even privy to; technology that seemingly came out of nowhere over the past 150yrs, I consider this:

The Earth's basic resources that we have at our disposal. What do we have: trees for wood, stones/rocks, water, dirt, clay, minerals (rocks), precious stones (rocks), gold, silver, oil, natural gas, sulphur vanes, uranium, plutonium, marble (stone), and I'm sure I am missing a few basic things, but how incredible it is that we have what we have today, from the most basic to the most fantasticly complicated and all created from these most basic elements.
This is amazing when you really stop to consider it...

One should go against the companies like Microsoft, (perhaps the tool of the last Robber baron (industrialist)?).

If you don't ever use speech recognition, and that should get better on free software, such as Linux. By the way, take a look at this YouTube: Software Wars Teaser Trailer - YouTube

Is it not mind boggling how technology has come so far in such a few years..I agree with jpw and I believe that we are almost there for the evil world leader to appear and we do need to be awake and ready.

I remember reading the history of IBM and Germany.....they had, at that time, a sophisticated system of databasing, through the help of american technologies.

and westerners have been trying to warn the public of this for years. but its accomplished now. better be right with the Lord!
