Fear of G.I. Jane: Special operations forces are worried about adding women
Publicly and privately, U.S. commandos are casting doubt on the sexual revolution looming over Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Delta Force and Green Berets.

The Pentagon staged a press briefing last week to announce a two-year study to refine combat physical standards and find the best way to install women in the male bastion of infantry, armor and special operations. A decision on which combat roles will be open to women is expected in 2015.

It is the special “ops” group — with its secretive isolation in small teams where physical stamina matters most — that has commandos the most nervous. ...

The day they say that wool blend suits are prohibited by the passage in Deuteronomy then they can say it shows woman can't wear pants.
But US, surely you know if divers wear wool blend suits, they will drown.

Hi Elise,
Putting in my 2 cents concerning Deut. 22:5.
I have heard it preached the way WAM posted and also that a woman should never wear pants ever.
It is a matter that needs to be studied out and prayerfully taken before the Lord.
In whatever way a sister dresses it is always to please the Lord and bring honor and glory to Him.
Just my thoughts.
Blessings to you,
Dorcas.
Great comment Dorcas, as far as I can see it,

Deuteronomy 22: (KJV) 11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

The day they say that wool blend suits are prohibited by the passage in Deuteronomy then they can say it shows woman can't wear pants.

Well, something isn't right, JPW, when girls are turning into women many years before they should be..or used to. I was at a kids soccer banquet Friday night, and one girl couldn't have been more than 9...maybe 10 at the oldest and I immediately wondered, what in the world is in the food, what has changed, etc. Obviously nothing good...

I have read the Bible through more than once and I have not read of a woman going into battle in any of the many wars they fought. It's a very dangerous situation when this happens because she is the weaker sex..I have three boys and one girl and their bodies at birth were different..hers was much softer and as they grew up they had diffent personalities..the boys more aggressive..more rough play.Btw didn't men and women wear robes..so what message are we missing here? Yes,I too believe the lines are being blurred between men and women. The Bible clearly says a woman should dress modestly so that's what I do.

its no joke -- the plastics and soys have an estrogen effect on boys... let alone the chemical substances we are giving that disrupt hormones! and the hormone stimulants in some of foods! ah! and putting young girls on the pill... the lack of certain minerals essential to hormone function. people think that abundance of food makes for a healthy people. truth is you can have an abundance of food and still be dying of malnutrition and be very large.... food must be real and healthy and water free of heavy metals. so simple. the evidence is seen before our eyes, I see it every time I go out. the abortionists I talked with said everyone would be on gms and then they'd be dependent on synthetics. already happened, we just don't want to see.

the idea of an agrarian based society was traded out and now so many are dependent and without jobs. just like during the iron curtain, there are answers but not in statism. its in the gov of the family, raising boys as boys, girls as girls in a healthy environment and training them to continue on the cycle of life in their generation.

Jane is not built like Joe. Why would she want to be Joe? What makes her not want to be Jane?

Oh boy, Elise, probably much more so than you. Tending sheep, planting, etc: sounds like you you may be more sheltered, population wise than I am, and you still see it out in the country. Rhode Island is basically a never ending town, being connected by burrough after burrough, almost non stop, and Boston is close as well, so I see some pretty frightening things. On another topic, those round ear discs are popular up here for some reason, as well. You know, they start out small, and then replace them with larger and larger ones to stretch the earlobe out, not unlike certain tribes around the world do. Take them out and the earlobe just dangles and flops around like several inches. Whenever I see these, I think about how absolutely ridiculius these people will be looking in just a few years after they mature more. They do these things without thought for the future; eardiscs, facial tatoos, spikes implanted into their heads, teeth shaven down to spikes and or fangs, etc, etc. Some of these kids look so Satanic.

It is interesting to find that some folks think women's pants are men's clothing. Even while the clothing that was worn by men when Deut was written might seem more like women's clothing today.

There are two prevailing beliefs about this verse. On one side there are people who do not believe women should wear pants (any garmet with a crotch). Then there are people who believe "that which pertaineth unto a man" is a reference to military. I haven't personally studied it out.
Either way, it seems to me that women would be best to purposefully avoid the special ops!
I always thought the verse you quoted meant men not to deliberately dress as women or women as men for example transvestites, or so called "drag queens ", don't know what you would call women who do the same, I hate seeing men dress as women, I don't see anything funny about it at all. I could be wrong so it would be interesting to see what others think,

Thanks Christopher, all is well, just busy time of year with all the croft work ( peat cutting, sheep shearing, planting and harvesting ) that has to be done and even in this work men and women have there different rolls, do you ever notice that you have to look twice at some people to see if it's a man or woman you are seeing, the way they dress, hair style and all the rest, it's as you say men are becoming more like women and women like men. God gave us different abilities, different qualities.
So even with all the work I always go through the S/A articles and comment each day, also like to read the different views and discussions.

Phew! Thanks Elise. Nice to hear from you, too. Hope all is well.

I have never liked women doing manly things and vice versa. I don't even like, although nothing is wrong with it, I guess, women riding Harleys, etc, driving the big rigs, boxing, etc. To me, these examples, amongst many others, are like men knitting, playing hopscotch, doing each others hair, etc. I don't want to say that we have specific roles, I guess, but I just think males and females have lost their distinctions; becoming intertwined and even reversed with females lording over feminized males. I just feel like men have become boys.
Hopefully I didn't go too far with this...

Sorry, and I don't know how to say this without sounding Chauvinist, which I am not, but women have no place or business going into or even training for combat. We are built differently and are created different emotionally.

When politics enters the realm of the armed forces, the result is always a reduction in readiness. The only way that women can be added to the elite force is through lowering the standards, plain and simple. Liberalism has both of its feet planted in mid-air. Welcome to New Rome everyone.
