Americans ballistic over NSA 'dragnet'

Dozens of American organizations from left to right on the political spectrum are demanding a halt to the National Security Agency’s vast “dragnet” of snooping on Americans and accountability for those who launched the program.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, in an announcement on its website, said the groups signed a letter to Congress demanding a full-scale investigation into the NSA’s surveillance programs, “an end to illegal spying” and transparency.

“It’s been less than two weeks since the first NSA revelations were published in the Guardian, and it’s clear the American people want Congress to act,” EFF said.

The organization said the first step to publicly account for all of the NSA’s surveillance capabilities is to organize an independent investigation, similar to the Church Committee in the 1970s. ...

News flash!!! This JUST in!!! The current occupant of the white house, Barak H Obama has been president for nearly 5 years!!!! MORE than enough time to stop any policy implemented by the previous president. Wait....another headline!!! The current president SUPPORTS this program!!!

Doesn't matter what you think of former president Bush or his policies REALITY is that currently this is the responsibility of the current administration. Bush stopped funding for abortion to overseas clinics, President Obama ended that policy within days of taking office. Agree or disagree with the current policy it is the current administration that bears the blame or the praise.

You really shouldn't be insulting anyone elses intelligence as you have done so often in other threads.
Where did I insult anyone elses intelligence in that post about the Democratic Party being on the side of Satan and the Republican Party being on the side of Jesus? That is the truth. The Democratic Party is on the side of Satan because they support abortion and homosexuality whereas the Republican Party is on the side of Jesus because the official policy of the Republican Party is that it is against abortion and homosexuality.

As I pointed out in another thread, this is being pushed a lot, Stop Watching Us. as a way to complain, but I have also seen this (I wouldn't contribute any money to this) which is interesting if it still accurate, Don't Spy on Me which might make you want to put Carrier IQ Detector app on your smart phone.
Again I think private spying is much more of a problem than government spying, e.g., Street View: Google given 35 days to delete wi-fi data (England etc.)
It's useless Jim, 75% of the people on SA believe the same thing, whether they say it or not!
