Obama: Banning late-term abortion shows ‘contempt’ for ‘the Constitution'

In a Statement of Administration Policy, the president called the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (H.R. 1797) “an assault on a woman's right to choose” and said it shows “contempt for...the Constitution.”

“The administration strongly opposes H.R. 1797, which would unacceptably restrict women's health and reproductive rights and is an assault on a woman's right to choose,” he said. “This bill is a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade and shows contempt for women's health and rights, the role doctors play in their patients' health care decisions, and the Constitution.”

He contended his administration is working to “minimize the need for abortion” by “expand[ing] access to contraception,” a reference to either the HHS mandate or his decision to allow the abortifacient Plan B to be sold over the counter to minor girls without a prescription. ...

Why lessen the amounts of abortion if there is nothing wrong with abortion? The President is talking out of both sides of his mouth. If abortion is completely justified and acceptable in our country then as a nation we should encourage women to have more of them not less. Yet the president wants to give out free birth control pills. He is of the double tongued. God is watching.

The impostor from Kenya is contemptable. He has no regard for life, liberty, or God Almighty, much less the Constitution! I pray for God's mercy that He will deliver us from this evil. When will someone have the backbone to start impeachment proceedings against this charlatan? Enough is enough!!!

What a ridiculous, confused human. I find it interesting how many people call themselves Christians, biw their heads in prayer, recite verses, etc, etc, but live, orpreach, and believe just the opposite of what the Bible itself teaches.

I agree whole heartedly O R G. Point was if a woman is pregnant, generally speaking, she had choices. She chose her actions, she chose wether to take precautions or not, and the result of those choices was the creation of another life. But the only choice they wanna talk about is murder.

Contempt for the constitution, the president is an expert on that. And since less than 1% of abortions deal with rape or incest (not advocating abortion in those cases) then the women did have a reproductive right to chose at the beginning of the pregnancy.

"the president called the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” (H.R. 1797) “an assault on a woman's right to choose” and said it shows “contempt for...the Constitution.”"

I guess Obama is declaring unborn Americans don't come under the Constitution.

The Bill reads;
"Prohibits the abortion from being performed if the probable post-fertilization age of the unborn child is 20 weeks or greater, except where necessary to save the life of a pregnant woman whose life is endangered"

This still kills a life. Life begins at conception. (Except for Liberals we are not sure they are alive)!!

Also;
"Defines "abortion" to mean the use or prescription of any instrument, medicine, drug, or any other substance or device to intentionally kill an unborn child or to intentionally terminate a pregnancy with an intention ..."

Abortion "kills" "takes a life" - Therefore is murder.

John Y., you were not specific enough, it's not just "single persons," but single persons who are Christians this of course then excludes priests and nuns, q.v., Clerical Celibacy or a short version Celibate Priests.

1 Timothy 4:1 But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,
2 by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,
3 men who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods, which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth.---NASB

But the rest of your comments were fairly solid John Y., and something you might want to listen to, Why Marry, Why Not.

It is quite clear that Obama holds to Dr. Peter Singer's view of the value of human life. Dr. Singer denies that human life has any divinely given "sanctity." He wants to replace the idea of the intrinsic "sanctity" of life with a belief that the "quality" of life is what matters. Quality of life determines whether or not a particular human "animal" deserves to live. According to Singer,it is human society, not God, that determines which lives have sufficient quality, and therefore value, to be preserved. For that reason, Singer sees nothing wrong with the practice of infanticide in the case of infants who are born with physical handicaps or mental deficiencies that will greatly reduce their quality of life. He also believes that if a child is unwanted by its mother, its life is thereby denied sufficient value to merit being preserved, so it is perfectly legitimate to eliminate that life either in the womb, or sometime shortly after birth. Such a view is monstrous of course, but that is not surprising, since the denial of God leads to the denial of man as well-- the total obliteration of all divinely given dignity and value to human life. That is apparently the worldview that our president embraces, which explains his advocacy of late-term abortion.

If nothing else, he has gall. The man who more than most despises the Constitution, and bypasses it when he needs to get his way, says others have contempt for it? Amazing.

The right to choose murder does not exist anywhere, Mr. "President."

Limbaugh's right (once again!).

This guy (Obama) is not "cool" (as many like to think), he's COLD.

More than cold enough to have little or no regard for human life outside of that which supports his political agenda.

Please read I Cor. 7:3-5. Abstinence within marriage is permissible for purposes of prayer and fasting. It must be mutually agreed upon by both parties and the time frame for which it lasts should be short, lest Satan tempt that married couple in their incontinency. What would even be the purpose of marrying if you're going to continually abstain? Surely such a marriage will produce no fruit, nor will it protect against sexual sin. Permanent abstinence is for single people, not those that are married.

B.H. Alabama?
When is the last time you or I heard a sermon filled Biblically with the Fear of the LORD? One that gives a genuine heart felt understanding of how evil sin really is and how thoroughly and undeservedly it is against the Lord Jesus Christ?

Assuming you live in Alabama perhaps you can recall the rally in support of Judge Roy Moore's public display of the 10 Commandments when heartbreakingly only approx 4000 people showed up.

IMHO we have lost our minds in modern day churches in failing to see the importance and significance of the 10 Commandments, as used lawfully they are a powerful school master to lead men to Christ and the obedience of faith the Gospel (that would be the real Gospel not some watered down imitation of it) produces in the lives of those who God saves from sin.

We might attempt to teach young women and men about the value of sexual purity but if they fail to believe God even exists and have no fear of Him it is of little value to attempt to do so.

Yes, and taking up one's cross requires fleeing and abstaining from fornication (I Cor. 6:18; I Thes. 4:3). It is advisable for most women and men to marry so they can avoid fornication and not burn (I Cor. 7:2,9), and within marriage they are to render due benevolence to one another (I Cor. 7:4).
Once married, should precautions even be taken to prevent pregnancy? That seems to fly in the face of the "be fruitful and multiply" mandate.

Truly the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31 is a rare and priceless treasure in the day we are living in.

A woman who so fears the LORD that she is indeed one in whom her husband can trust and one who knows, in my words, what it is to live out the faith of serving God as a wife and godly mother to the children God blesses she and her husband with.

I cannot begin to put into appropriate words my thankfulness to God to even think of how such faith honors God, and is such a blessing to the husbands, children, neighbors and anyone privledged to knowing such a woman, even if they are utterly hated by those who despise the Cross and the Savior who died for sinners like me.

btw How are you all doing in OKC after all the horrific storms you have been through?

“an assault on a woman's right to choose” and said it shows “contempt for...the Constitution.”

What Obama and reprobates like him do not know is that sin punishes sin.

"23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the LORD our God shall cut them off." Psalm 94.

Proverbs 17:15 He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.

If the Whitehouse is America's "throne"
Proverbs 16:12 It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness
