Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin, said on Tuesday that he would support a legislative ban on homosexual foreign couples adopting Russian children.
He also denied he was being discriminatory, or that gays were treated unfairly in Russia.
“If such a law is passed by the parliament of the country, I will sign it,” Mr. Putting said at the European Union-Russia conference, Agence France-Presse reported. “I think our legislation is very liberal … and there is no discrimination, none at all.”
mr. b, of course you noticed that the Supreme Court, especially those conservative Catholics appointed by Republican Presidents are going to let queer marriages to be legalized? They can't have their queer priests embarrassed.
As far as Russia has been concerned, they have had too low of birthrate for decades, so even if Putin wasn't a democrat (Well, one with a thin veneer of being a democrat on him) I think the Russian government, would ban the nonsense of queer marriages and adoptions of queers internally and probably find some ways to keep their children at home as it is.
