Manly Modesty: Should Men Be Concerned with Clothing Options?
Modesty as a subject addressed to women continues to be as popular as ever. Some would argue it remains a needed point of discussion. Consider this limited sample of Internet offerings:

Jonathan Merritt's RNS column, "Is the modesty movement harmful to women?"

Dannah Gresh's "A modest proposal for my critics"

Maura Byrne's "The bikini question" ...

Hey Luke 17:10. I agree with you regarding where the skins came from and your logic. I tend to think they were nude prior to the fall and were not clothed in some sort of light, but... The fact that they tried to cover themselves and hide from God pretty much says that their nudity became an issue after they sinned. Also, one could postulate that in order for their offspring to be clothed, it would have had to begun with them?
Anyway, good comment - made me think.
Hey Frank,
Thanks for the great feedback, hope all is well with you! Sure is nice not to have to be in a thread where someone is hurling insults at you, brother, God's richest blessing for you

Unfortunately in Winston's case he wasn't little, he was portly, and many times he should have had more cloths on. He did have much to be modest about

The fact that there was a previously unknown awareness of their nakedness suggest they had a covering that they lost. God is said to be covered with light as a cloak in Psalm 104 and it is possible that though they had no physical clothes (Genesis 2:25) they may have shared in the light of God's glory. (pure speculation) the one thing we know for sure, there was no shame in their nakedness until they sinned. The covering they made was obviously insufficient as it was replaced."Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them." (Genesis 3:21 KJV) Seeing the Scripture teaches that without the shedding of blood there is no remission, God would have slain animals to clothe Adam and Eve.

Why do assume God killed an animal for the "skins"
God has just created Adam and Eve out of essentially nothing so why did He need to take the hide from a recently created animal?
Also if God was "upset" by the nudity of Adam and Eve in order to make clothes for them - Why is it HE didn't previously do this prior to their sin, when they were as equally nude before?

I didn't read the whole article but to answer the title question, yes. Men should be just as concerned with modesty. When Adam and Eve sinned they both sewed fig leaves for clothes. This what not enough for God so He killed an animal and made them coats of skin. From this we can learn two things, clothes are important to God and blood has to be shed for sin. Notice God didn't just see Eve a coat but he sewed Adam one too. While women are mainly emotional creatures we are also visual too. To help us keep out flesh in control, brothers should cover up- that includes while swimming. No guy should swim shirtless or in a Speedo.
Excellent post.

WAY too much skin out there visible for all to see. Might also be less skin cancer cases if more people covered-up.
