Sexual Purity Under Attack in Nation's Schools, Says Christian Author Dannah Gresh

Dannah Gresh, a best-selling author and advocate for the sexual purity movement, was a featured speaker at this year's TEDxPSU event at Pennsylvania State University, and spoke about sexual myths that are hurting teenagers and college students who are navigating a culture that promotes tolerance of all sexual behaviors and choices, except abstinence.

"We're waving the banner of tolerance over the nation, but the one thing that's not tolerated is abstinence and sexual purity," said Gresh in an interview with The Christian Post on Wednesday. "Something parents don't understand is that their teenagers are living in an age where virginity isn't tolerated."

Angela's point about parents is vital. Mine went to public school when overall morality was good so they sent their kids (me and my sibs) also, not realizing the declining moral state of these schools by then (late 1960s-early 1970s). It's far worse now with government filling the "vacuum" left by broken homes and/or parents who are just not "there" for their kids.

I personally would LOVE to have been home-schooled. Not just because both my parents were teachers and more than up to the task, but the LACK of so-called "socialization" (so highly touted by mass educators both public and private) would've saved me much corruption I experienced and obtained from falling in with the "wrong crowd".

Great posts Angela and Anne.
We live right by our local High School and when we see the young people with the immodest dress,tattoos, piercings,etc...it grieves us, they are totally immersed in the culture and have been fed the poison of government schools for years!!Sexual purity is the last thing on their minds.,mostly the young women want to make themselves look as much like the hollywood harlots,as much as they can.Very sad.

"Under attack"? They rolled over and floated to the top of the tank a long time ago. I'm with Angela. Why do God-fearing parents put their children in a situation where their day is surrounded by that which is in clear opposition to the Bible? So they can be a light to the world? Oh please, they're babies yet. Protect them by bringing them up first in the fear and admonition of The Lord. While God will never miss an opportunity to teach them, Satan will never miss an opportunity to teach your kids either.

I hate to pop any bubbles here, but frankly sexual purity has been under attack in government schools for decades... I graduated high school in 1976 and we were the first class in my school district to have sex ed. Also, when I served on my local school board, I found Planned Parenthood materials that had been used in class since the early to mid 1970's. Parents, please remove your children from the God forsaken gov't schools. They are cesspools of immorality and violence. I wouldn't put my puppy in one.
