Boston Bombing Lessons: Martial Law Doesn't Work

Only after the curfew in Watertown, Massachusetts was lifted and alert resident David Hanberry went outside his home to get a smoke, according to news reports, did the case of the Boston Marathon bombing manhunt for suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev crack open. Up until that time, a wide assortment of local, state, and federal officials were engaged in a dragnet that essentially shut down the City of Boston, and included house-to-house searches in the neighborhoods of Watertown, Mass. and New Bedford, Mass., the latter being near where 19-year-old Russian immigrant Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had enrolled in college. Tsarnaev, a Muslim from the Dagestan area of Russia that abuts Chechnya, became a U.S. citizen on September 11 of last year.

In essence, the lessons from the Boston Marathon mean that the following procedures ...

Martial law is the correct term.

Lockdown = martial law

It's unconstitutional and a human rights violation. Even if the Constitution were never created this would be wrong.

I hope there are some lawsuits over this.

When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
Benjamin Franklin

It actually shows that we need something on the order of a national Islamic Insurance plan, like Flood insurance. However, the first monies that is dished out have to come from the salaries and retirement plans of Congress. This fellow's boat should be replaced by such a plan, Boston Marathon bombing: Donations pour in to buy David Henneberry a new boat after shoot out | Mail Online. This could be paid for just such insurance. Oh, and it might negate the need for any martial law being instituted?

We didn't learn about the "Red scare" in public school... Only taught us how great America became after "the New Deal". I suppose kids in school today will only learn how great the government is for protecting us. I agree, police state is coming. When is Rahm going to try that in the rough parts of Chicago?!

All they did was show terrorists how 2 young people shut down a city. I would not doubt if a terror group is using this as a new recruiting tool. It's very sad .

They tested the waters and found that the environment was inviting... From now on government will violate the Constitutional Rights of the people until America is a Nazi police state. It will only get worse from here...
