Toddlers becoming so addicted to iPads they require therapy

Experts have warned that parents who allow babies and toddlers to access tablet computers for several hours a day are in danger of causing ‚Äúdangerous‚ÄĚ long term effects.

The youngest known patient being treated in the UK is a four-year-old girl from the South East.

Her parents enrolled her for compulsive behaviour therapy after she became increasingly ‚Äúdistressed and inconsolable‚ÄĚ when the iPad was taken away from her.

I believe this sermon is relative to this news article and is well worth the time it takes to hear it. When pictures replace words it is very destructive as history has shown, nothing new under the sun just a new form. Please for any with children for whom they are concerned listen and encourage your children to do like wise.

Well said Christopher!
I have noticed this same phenomena in the "next" generation (I am an oldy of 63 years). So I observe it happening in our grandchildren. I wonder if this is common to the problem we identify in that "authority" in society is being removed.
The church and the Bible is no longer respected as an authority in the community and even in some churches. Moral standards as an authority are being rejected in the generations. Justice is weakened and criminals receiving more quote "human rights" which are mollifying them. Other institutions such as education are suffering as an authority too.
Authority Power Ratings In Our Time:
Self Government - Down
Family Government - Down
Church Government - Down
Civil Government - Way Up and Increasing Daily

Ridiculous. I have two nieces and a nephew on my wife's side. They have had iPads, iPods, smartphones, and gameboys, Nintendo's, Kindles, etc, since they were very young. Take them away for any amount of time, and look out. Not only that but the girls are never disciplined, appreciate nothing, respect nobody, including their parents, get waited on, and all they have to do is cry to receive cimfort when they should be sparked. I say spanked because nothing else works. Talk to the parents and they will tell you they are super parents raising the most well rounded girls. Frustrating.

Funny Rufus, because I was thinking after I posted, "don't you love your kids?" They would say, "yes", of course, but they are deluded. They are a dysfunctional couple, in a disfunctional marriage, passing on their dysfunctional-ness to their children. The whole family is like that. They all need long term therapy for their many issues, but ask them, and they will really believe it when they compare themselves to the Brady bunch...believing that everything is A.O.K, when just the opposite is true.

Yep, try to get their attention or ask them to do something when playing their games, on their iPods, or whatever, Barry...they are like in an hypnotic trance.

I think this is a real problem. When you ask they parents will tell you that they don't want their children to miss out on an educational opportunity. I say, have them read a book. Take them to a museum. Let them experience life.
This same problem exist with adults. You can have an entire conversation with someone that will not look up from their 'smart' phone. Very frustrating indeed Christopher.

Sounds like they hate their children.

Proverbs 13:24 - He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
