Vatican declares healing of Colorado Springs boy a miracle after prayers to German nun
The wheels of canonization grind slowly, but a German nun who lived 100 years ago could be named a saint because the Vatican believes a Colorado Springs boy experienced a miracle in 1999.•Mother Theresia Bonzel, who founded the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration in Olpe, Germany, in 1863, is scheduled for beatification in November — a step toward sainthood — as a result of the boy's miraculous recovery.•Two Colorado Spring nuns prayed to Bonzel on behalf of 4-year-old Luke Burgie, and the events that followed — over the next 14 years — have been closely scrutinized and investigated by church officials and doctors.

Just before Easter, Pope Francis affirmed that Bonzel was responsible for the miracle required for her beatification. Two miracles are required for canonization, or sainthood. ...

1 Corinthians 3
13 each man's work will become evident; for the day will show it, because it is to be revealed with fire; and the fire itself will test the quality of each man's work.---NASB

JFB Commentary wrote:
This fire is not till the last day, the supposed fire of purgatory begins at death. The fire of Paul is to try the works, the fire of purgatory the persons, of men. Paul's fire causes "loss" to the sufferers; Rome's purgatory, great gain, namely, heaven at last to those purged by it, if only it were true. Thus this passage, quoted by Rome for, is altogether against, purgatory. "It was not this doctrine that gave rise to prayers for the dead; but the practice of praying for the dead [which crept in from the affectionate but mistaken solicitude of survivors] gave rise to the doctrine" [WHATELY].
List of Heresies and Human Traditions Adopted and Perpetuated by the Roman Catholic Church in the Course of 1600 Years..

Smart Pope, plays to the German and Catholic laity feelings and to billboard the name of "St. Francis." These Jesuits are a cunning lot.

Deut 18 vs 10
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter or a witch.
11: or a charmer, or a consulted with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a NECROMANCER.
12: for all who do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Ah, John Y., I have pointed out to you, you are considered a heretic if you don't accept all the dogmas of the Romish Church, q.v. Doctrine/Doctrinal Smorgasbord? The second article on the page (though the first one is well worth a reading also. ) Do you think the hocus-pocus of “Give Me the Works, Father” (PDF) is going to give a get into heaven free card, while being hypocritical for all these years, John Y.? You by now, talking to enough Christians should know that isn't going to work.

These verses suggest that angels and elders took (intermediary/go-between)? the prayers of the saints to the throne/altar. How do you interpret that? Is their job just to transport them in the spiritual realm, or are they more involved in the admin of prayers?

Rev 8:3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with **THE PRAYERS OF ALL THE SAINTS** upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with **THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS,** ascended up before God out of the angel's hand

Rev 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are **THE PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS.**

I don't accept the Apocrypha as being part of the Bible. I don't read the Apocrypha in the Catholic Bible that I own.

Mike of N.Y., perhaps John Y., can find it in the Apocrypha of The Roman Catholic Bible (PDF).

John U.K., you have a healthy attitude about this nun of the Sisters of ... Perpetual Motion, or whatever. But it is still the ex-Catholics who really communicate to us in a special way, after making a Pilgrimage From Rome, e.g.,

Tony C. wrote:
The point Jesus was making is that Mary, his earthly mother, had no special position or honor over any other Christian who does God's will. Mary is blessed, as was the Apostles, they were used by God in a special way, but she was never to be worshipped and elevated as the Catholics do--this is a dishonor to her and to Christ.
Mary is in heaven and doesn't have clue what we are doing here and could care less, she is focused on Jesus her Lord and Savior. The prayers of Catholics to Mary and the other saints are an abomination and a stench in the nostrils of God, for, "there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." [1 Timothy 2:5]

The worldliness of the Roman Catholic religious enterprise makes it more likely they will receive their rewards here on earth.

Their "work hard" ethic on salvation (by works) will gain them lots of human praise.

True Christians don't expect their reward down here.

Quote;
""Just before Easter, Pope Francis affirmed that Bonzel was responsible for the miracle""

RCC Idolatry as usual cuts out the Lord and worships the sinner.

Promoting another god for the Roman Catholics.

Evangelical Protestants get the proverbial gold watch and pension today. Catholics have to work hard every day (by the grace of Christ alone, of course) for 40 years and only then they just may receive them.

Such a deal! Almost seems too good to be true.

Following this logic, it's a wonder there's even a single Catholic left. For we live in an instant gratification age.

I am so grateful the Lord saved me and made me a saint the very same day! Poor folks in the RCC have zero hope of salvation or heaven this side of the grave.
