Broadcasters worry about 'Zero TV' homes

Some people have had it with TV. They've had enough of the 100-plus channel universe. They don't like timing their lives around network show schedules. They're tired of $100-plus monthly bills.

A growing number of them have stopped paying for cable and satellite TV service, and don't even use an antenna to get free signals over the air. These people are watching shows and movies on the Internet, sometimes via cellphone connections.

So true.

I recently searched YouTube in hopes of amusing myself with some "funny" commercials. After watching only a few I had to stop because most of them had at least some degree of corruption (sex and other sinful behavior).

Well, you certainly have a point concerning the commercials. Never know what you're going to see next with
those. You know what I have been noticing more of lately? Subtle, or not so subtle references to humans together with animals

I've been Zero TV free since 2005. I love it! We do use Netflix and I would like to find a good wifi carrier that is not a cable company...any suggestions?

Any time Christians try to live pleasing to the Lord we are attacked by those inside the church as legalistic or trying to earn salvation.Makes you wonder.
Precisely.

But then, Leo is probably unregenerate.

I like the TV for certain programming; Discovery, History, TLC, the news, etc. I don't see anything wrong with having a TV as long as viewing is controlled and sit time is limited. I suppose much of what I may watch from time to time could be viewed on the net, listened to on the radio, etc. If I had children, they certainly wouldn't be TV, or video game junkies.

Not much; they've simply chosen another media device on which to waste time and be indoctrinated in the world's sinful ways.

It's been four years since I've been TV-less; no looking back!
