'Jesus may have been gay’, says controversial Fox News host Don Imus

A controversial Fox News host has risked sparking anger after he said during his programme that there was “some indication” that “Jesus may have been gay".

Don Imus made the comment on his show earlier this week during a telephone interview with political analyst Kirsten Powers.

According to the Pink News website Mr Imus referred to a 3rd-century religious text known as the “Gospel of Judas Iscariot” and claimed it provided evidence that Jesus was a homosexual.

“You know there’s a Gospel of Judas floating around,” he said. ...

This is actually comforting in a weird way to men like myself who married late in life, and who no doubt were judged by some to be "gay" simply because we were not so eager to find a woman and settle down as quickly as others.

Jesus came not to marry a physical wife and have physical descendants, but to die as a sacrifice to establish an eternal bride, composed of spiritual children/believers.

For this reason He too is often accused of being homosexual and can thus identify with the similar persecution endured by heterosexual single men and those who marry later in life.

You certainly sound better, and even yesterday when you rightfully pointed out an unnecessary jab at the Blessed Apostle Peter. Such a jab is an indication of someone who despises the Elect in Rome.

To answer your question, John is known as the 'loved' one because thats how he refers to himself in the Gospel of John. Note that John is a heavenly view where as Mark(The Gospel Peter is associated with) is more of a servant view. As you pointed out, Peter is Loved as well

John 21:20 Then Peter, turning about, seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved following; which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said, Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

I had posted this un another thread by mistake...

Thanks, Michael... that would be great! Thank you! Her name is Michelle, and she is a life long Roman Catholic.
I do believe that God can save anyone because He saved my dad, who was a bad, bad man.
Thanks again, and I would post up any progress, for sure. Boy, wouldn't that be a miracle. Like people said of you before you were saved, Michael,..."yeah right, fat chance". This is the position that I am in with her.
I firmly believe that things begin happening in the spiritual realm the moment a true Christian begins to pray and I know that this is a request that is obviously God's will.
"Michelle" from Lincoln, RI.

Thanks!

Hi, Joe Lee...no, if she had that trash tuned in on the TV, I wouldn't have it. She listens on Serius radio. Having been in the past a hatefull self-righteous sin loving hypocrity in thorough disobedient enmity against God, unless I could use Him or get something out of Him for free.

I nevertheless experienced the power of God in answering the fervent unceasing prayers of his people, even when it shocked some Christians who thought it was impossible for me to be saved.

IMHO I believe it is safe to say, "We love you brother." And we (many of us on SermonAudio) will consider it a great honor to be in serious prayer for your wife for her genuine salvation. My wife and I have shared some serious prayer requests lately with a small group Bible study, and a small prayer meeting we are in and will be putting you and your wife on our list (I think others here will be doing likewise) so I want to encourage you to let God fight this battle for you and be prepared for the shock when He mightly answers.

You mean, America, you don't want to see the influence of Catholic priests on the average public? :-7 Abuse by Priests (PDF).

Mr. Ignoramus Imus, shows his complete lack of depth, by even suggesting the Is the “Gospel of Judas” True? has any validity to decide Christian history. Now, it could be useful in deciding some of the history of the heretical gnostic groups.

Not only are these talk show hosts worn out old disk jockeys, not one of them in the mainstream is a sold out believer in Jesus Christ. On the whole they are primarily Roman Catholics, and Jews with a sprinkling of Mormons and other false religions. Yet, many Christians spend more time listening to these folks then they do listening to Godly preachers.

The Mormons believe Jesus had multiple wives. To the JWs He was just a man. To the Hindu’s He was an enlightened man. To the Muslims He was no more than a good man and a prophet. To the RC, He needs to be sacrificed over and over again. To Mr. Imus, He was a homosexual and of course the list goes on.

To us, He is the God/man who left heaven, lived a perfect life; suffered torture and ridicule while dying for our sins and then He was raised for our justification. What a wonderful Savior we have!

I am just reminding myself that the gospel of our Lord will accomplish the purpose for which it is sent, regardless of Imus or Fox News. Only fools think that way.

I thank Him for my salvation and my eternal home with Him.

[14] Now thanks [be] unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. [15] For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: [16] To the one [we are] the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who [is] sufficient for these things? [17] For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. (2Cr 2:14-17 KJV)

These 'talk show hosts' (old, worn out disk jockeys) pontificating about Christ and Scripture makes as much sense as me discussing molecular biology.

Surely everyone understands that these fools will say absolutely anything to draw an audience. Who among us would be giving a single thought to Don Imus this morning if he hadn't said something so ridiculous?

21  From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day.
22  Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. note
23  But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those of men.

Christ wasn't tempted by Peter, but rather rebuked for denying that He had to suffer. What do you mean?

Peter wasn't the 1st pope, and there is no record that he was ever in Rome. Curious: how are you interpreting Christ's love for John?
