Public opinion could sway Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage?
Public opinion on marriage for gay and lesbian couples has shifted with almost unprecedented speed since California voters banned such unions in 2008.
That shift could influence the Supreme Court, in particular Justice Anthony M. Kennedy and possibly Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr., as it decides whether to uphold Proposition 8 in coming months.
Throughout his long career, Kennedy has been willing to make major changes in the law on issues including the death penalty, gun rights and gay rights. Kennedy has been a strong, steady proponent of constitutional principles such as free speech, individual liberty and limits on government power....
Ah, do you mean that the Laura Bush doesn't reflect Baby-Faced Bush's opinions when it comes to queer marriages -- which she supports. No doubt neither of the Bushes cared one way nor another about it, unless it was politically expedient.
Lemme see, I did see our current President's name in the article. But even using control+f no references to Bush came up. Methinks both president Bush's would be against gay marriage, as opposed to the position of our current resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Mike must have the only explanation as to how Bush 41 and 43 got into the mix on this story. Oh well, it matters not, everything and anything that is immoral about our current administration's agenda is apparently the fault of George W Bush. Dick Cheney and Halliburton. When will the carnage ever stop.
Yes, I would hope all the Bushes would become Christian, even the patriarch, who might be the best of the bunch, and all of their wives, like Laura Bush. It would be great if the whole Bush clan became Christian, but I don't hold much hope out for that Mike.
PS, why should votes hold sway, though they are really public opinion, remember since God picks the leaders The Believer and Politics, but still Obama got the majority of votes too.
Jim Lincoln wrote: Oh, I don't know Rufus, you'll find conservative Jews speaking ill of liberal ones! By the way, --- I would hope that Dennis would become a Christian! But then when Bush really meant by "Compassionate Conservative" was to make sure none of the 400 fell off the Forbes list, then one can't be too surprised by much.

Yes 6 Church of Rome members and 3 that are of another group we are not supposed to speak ill of.
