With a touch of her trademark humor, Ellen DeGeneres tackles a very serious topic close to the talk show host's heart: gay marriage.
In an open letter posted to her website, Ellen reaches out to members of the Supreme Court, who will soon decide the fate of same-sex couples who wish to wed.
"Portia and I have been married for 4 years and they have been the happiest of my life," she blogs of her longtime partner Portia De Rossi. "And in those 4 years, I don't think we hurt anyone else's marriage. I asked all of my neighbors and they say they're fine."...
My wife DVR's Ellen every day. My wife is currently observing Ash Wednesday, or ash week, or Lent...something like that where she can't eat meat. Whenever one of these holidays arrive, I ask her what they are all about. For instance, I ask her why she can't eat meat, she responds, "because it's Lent"(or whatever), I then ask her what Lent is all about and she gets angry because she knows I know that she has no idea. This is the problem with most Roman Catholics. They are being led like sheeps to the slaughter because they just absolutely refuse to open their Bibles. Instead, they choose to place their eternal security into the hands of a false religious system, and mere sinful men who dress and regard themselves as holy Kings, full of pomp, but are full of every wicked and vile thing. Anyway, what was this article about...Ellen? I lost my train of thought on that. I have many, many family members who just won't listen to reason and get very angry when they are presented with Biblical facts which contradict Romes doctrines and rituals. Look out if I say any against the churches position concerning Mary...oh, boy...
