Pat Robertson Claims God Will Give One of His Viewers $1M
Controversial televangelist Pat Robertson recently told his audience that one of his viewers will be given a million dollars from God through the power of prayer.
The conservative social commentator and charismatic preacher stated this on a Thursday episode of the Christian Broadcasting Network's long-running program "The 700 Club."
"Just speak the word, touch people's lives. God is going to supply a million dollars. Somebody is praying right now, right this second you're praying for a million dollars," said Robertson, eyes firmly shut in prayer....
I just got a letter from Ed McMahon, Publishers Clearing House, stating that I won a million bucks. Pat is the real deal. They said all I have to do is subscribe to some magazines. I can't believe it.
I have always been very sceptical about that show. Every time I tune into it they are always going about money, and how people will be abundantly blessed finacially by donating large amounts to the 700 club. I don't doubt they do some good work, but I think they need to concentrate more on Christ like work than being so money oriented. My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory, not, my God shall supply a million dollars according to His riches in glory!
This doofus needs to retire. I would hate to be the one sitting next to him cause you never know what will come out of his mouth. I quit donating to CBN because he told some writer it was ok for him to get a divorce from his wife who has advsnced stages of some disease that left her "not there". And he said since she was "not there",he thought it ok to divorce her.
Why would God give $1 million dollars to anyone who watches Pat Robertson's show when the desire for riches makes it nearly impossible to enter heaven?
Mt 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Pat Robertson needs to stop taking God's name in vain in connecting the Almighty in get-rich-quick schemes.
Bob from USA writes: Statistically it's not a bad prediction....I.e. out of all the folks out in TV land somebody will get some cash! What would be great is if he predicted name, time, and place!
Good point. Not unlike horoscopes or the charlatan psychics. ..cold read, bait, or speak in generalities and they will always get some bites that they can build on from there. Either that or write books full of predictions that won't occur until 20 years afrer they are dead.

Oh brother. I thought Bob had turned the volume down a bit over the years after being wrong about so many things in the past and for being criticised for his over the top positions...guess not. As far as I'm concerned, the word/faith movement is a get rich quick scheme cooked up grifters turned religious charlatan. This gospel has made many men and some women wealthy because after all, everyone must give to them to receive their riches from God. Anyway, remember the children's hospital God told Bob to build...or He would kill him? Demons lurking in the Goodwill clothing drop off box now, Bob? A very Charismatic notion. ..I should know.
