Obama Says He'd Strike Down All Bans on Same-Sex Marriage
In an impromptu White House press conference on Friday, President Barack Obama spoke on his administration's recent decision to file an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to strike down Proposition 8, saying there is "no good reason" for a ban on same-sex marriage.
He was responding to a reporter who asked the president why he doesn't "just argue that marriage is a right that should be available to all people of this country."
Obama responded by saying: "What we've said is that same-sex couples are a group, a class that deserves heightened scrutiny. The Supreme Court needs to ask the state why it's doing it, and if the state doesn't have a good reason, it should be struck down. That's the core principle, as applied to this case....
Wilson on Sodomy wrote: In fact, he said this is the definition of sodomy: having a sexual encounter while specifically avoiding pregnancy.
Given that some practice contraception under medical advice for short periods in order to maximize the number of children they have over the long term, the evident absurdity of Sullivan's fabricated definition increases.
Wilson on Sodomy wrote: --- A key point was made when Sullivan stated that the Pill made same-sex marriage possible. He went on to say that 99.9% of sexual encounters between heterosexuals (both married and unmarried) in America is contracepted sex. In fact, he said this is the definition of sodomy: having a sexual encounter while specifically avoiding pregnancy. Thus, he said, "We're all sodomites now." Although Wilson gave it his all to respond to this and other tough points, Sullivan clearly won the debate.
A point: Sodomy is not practiced to avoid pregnancy, and God-ordained sex is not solely for the purpose of making babies. If Sullivan won the debate, it's because Wilson let him set the terms.

Exactly, thank you. Taking a pill is not an aberrant sexual practice. Contraception is not the sine qua non of sodomy. Sullivan had to redefine sodomy for his argument... and apparently won the debate. Pathetic.
sod·om·y [sod-uh-mee] noun 1. anal or oral copulation with a member of the opposite sex. 2. copulation with a member of the same sex. 3. bestiality ( def 4 ) .

Wilson must have been poor if Sullivan won the debate with such incoherent argumentation. His argument, as you report it, hinges on his redefinition of sodomy - which is simply incorrect.
This is a significant debate held on Wednesday between Pastor Doug Wilson and Andrew Sullivan (Oxford and Harvard-educated journalist, blogger and 'married' homosexual).

Funny Jim, how you can't let an article about Obama slip by without your standardized liberal buzzword "Bush," "Republican corruption," etc., reaction. But then "reaction" and "liberal" are synonymous. Anything to deflect scrutiny of this, the most corrupt administration in history? You should take up your own independent investigation, in keeping with your personal claim of being independent, instead of linking to the likes of Moyers, Huffington Post, BBC, Washington Post and others of similar non-independent ilk.
If the article was how a republican had gone down in shame, or supported some unbiblical position, Jim probably would say I told you so. More than likely he would not then say, but the democrats have just as many faults. Jim states he is an independent but it is hard to infer that from his political posts. We love and appreciate the brother for all his contributions and helpful advice You cannot doubt his passion to "set the record straight" but he is not by any stretch of the imagination the only one who post at SA from the left side of the political agenda. God richest blessing to you brother, thanks for all your posts here at SA!
No, I'm not a covert Democrat or I would be putting up more videos from Bill Moyers than ones such as, Full Show: The Resurrection of Ralph Reed or Mike Lofgren -- Independent. Mr. Lofgren did take too long to leave the Republican Party, Ronney's and Baby-Face Bush had as bad of administration that you can name, well since that of Warren G. Harding, anyway.
Ah, remember verse 10 of 1 Corinthians 6:9-10? I haven't been effected by the the actions of tdhe Demos of verse 9, but I sure was by the actions of the Republicans by verse 10!
So, anyway, as Mark Twain said, “Politicians and diapers must be changed often, and for the same reason.” This goes for both Democrats and Republicans and may I remind you of The Record of Republican Corruption.

We know you are a covert Democrat and supporter of Obama, Jim. But I was wondering whether that blinded you from the evil vile and perverted administation of this particular president. It is blatantly obvious to most decent people that Obama is encouraging homosexualty, abortion and socialism in America from the top down. Obama illustrates the most evil presidency in the nation's history. Clearly many are blind to this anti-Bible abomination in the country today.
Now who is it who does the blinding to achieve evil ends:: 2Cor 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
ps; This is not party politics Jim, this is signs of the times.

Now that article I got from the queer site, by the way, I use the printed version, so you should see little to support queerness, except at the end of the article, if one can call statistics a --moral-- support for anything. The article just pointed out also how Ronnie, Billy, (Maybe Jimmy) Baby-faces Bushes Jr. & Sr. ignored the Constitution as well. Of course they're implying "two [or more] wrongs make a right," and that isn't the case. Just remember God picked these Republican "sons of Satan" just as much as any Democratic ones, probably to punish the U.S.
Oh, by the way,
1 Corinthians 6 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.---NASB
Satan's president really wants lots of people to join him in hell. By undertaking to destroy the Law of God for America Obama is revealing what he is to all Christians. The enemy!
Obama's actions in leading America to hell is defiling the land and the people as GOD has recorded in the OT.
Lev 18:24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

Too bad he doesn't know it's not the States that need to have a good reason to do something, but the fed to show why they can't. It's a constitutional thing. Of course O doesn't uphold his vow, does he?

I don't see where Obama says .... He can't while they are laws against queer marriage and good secular reasons too, The Secular Case Against Gay Marriage.
Of course I don't support Obama's support of queer marriages, The Bible Says Homosexuality is Sin, but this article somewhat gives what Obama can or can't do --and depending on how the courts rule and Congress legislates, from a site that supports queer marriages (so wondering around on this site, you may see some unpleasant things.) Debunking Conservative Talking Points On DOMA. The article is probably accurate, at least as accurate as radical right radio commentators.
That's funny Chris. But I am sermon audits most annoying and unwanted . I'm just lucky I guess. We can't afford to be afraid to speak the truth chris, Jesus paid a heavy price and it wasn't for us to cower and hide in the corner and support and go with status quo. Stuff is wrong in our churches and government and we gotta speak up now or lose it all . Hopefully I have a friend in you here. I also dig mike from ny and his comments to and Kyle from Tucson . I'm glad you guys don't hold back
