Why Women Talk More Than Men: Language Protein Uncovered
You know all the times that men complain about women talking too much? Apparently there's a biological explanation for the reason why women are chattier than men. Scientists have discovered that women possess higher levels of a "language protein" in their brains, which could explain why females are so talkative.
Previous research has shown that women talk almost three times as much as men. In fact, an average woman notches up 20,000 words in a day, which is about 13,000 more than the average man. In addition, women generally speak more quickly and devote more brainpower to speaking. Yet before now, researchers haven't been able to biologically explain why this is the case.
Now, they can. New findings conducted by researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and published in The Journal of Neuroscience show that a certain protein may be the culprit....

I'm the same way, Crissy. People who can't seem to stop talking drain me. I find it a chore to keep up with them and I feel like they are stealing my energy...energy vampires. Well, I guess I wouldn't call myself a wall flower though...ha-ha.
I was thinking yesterday about why I post so much. What I came up with is that I think I find the wildly differing opinions interesting. I think it's interesting how similar, yet so different we are. I take special interest in reading all of the opinions concerning biblically based topics since I have some errors that need correcting.

Blah, blah, blah. Shut up, Chris. No, you shut up. You really do talk too much. Whatever, I don't care...don't tune in then. I have to see all your stupid posts if I'm going ro get to everyone elses. Well, when you see my name, just don't read what goes with it, genius. Oh, now we're name calling...what are you, 11? Whatever. Whatever yourself. I'm done here. Aw, don't cry.
Roses are red Violets are blue I'm a schizophrenic And so am I
Ahhhhh, I see. I'm chatty on the board, so maybe that carries over into real life and my significant other may think I'm the one who never shuts up? IRL, I'm very quiet. I could go all day without speaking, I walk around a dead silent house when I'm home alone, and if it weren't for somebody asking a question, or whatever, on a long trip, I probably wouldn't even speak. Unless, that is, I have something that needs to be said. I'm not one to tell stories or chat to break the silence. When I was on the drug boards, I was the same way. I have a lot to say on forums for some reason but in real life, I'm pretty quiet and find talking and carrying on unnecessary conversations a chore, right or wrong... I guess this is my release.
From the artilce,"..women generally speak more quickly and devote more brainpower to speaking..." Maybe, gentlemen, we need to engage brain before starting tongue! (Psalm 19:14)

Oh please. Stating the obvious is not clever!
Now if we can tie it down to something physiological, that's clever, because if we can trace one behaviour to a protein then there is hope that we can do the same for other behaviour patterns. AND then the BIG scientific hope is that unacceptable behaviour can be treated with some kinda drugs, because after all we all buy into unacceptable behaviour being an illness, right?

Hi Christopher
(Tongue firmly in cheek) If you speak as much as you write on this board, then perhaps it is infectious

Maddening. Look out though if I do the same to her. Women.
1 Peter 3.7
"Likewise, ye husbands, DWELL WITH THEM ACCORDING TO KNOWLEDGE, GIVING HONOUR unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered".
That's about right, John...I already miss,or tune out, half of what she says. II'll be half way out the door and she's still talking; I close the door, am standing outside and I still here her muffled talking...ug. I come home, open the door half way, and without even having a foot through the door, she's asking me questions. Well, I guess I'm glad I'm not alone. Years ago, there was an elderly guy who killed his wife of 50 or so years. While being questioned, a detective asked him why he killed his wife. His simple response was, "She just wouldn't shut up". I don't feel that way, of course, but just wanted to relate the story.

Yahoo! Someone else who has experienced this phenomena!
You know, Christopher, you'd better keep you ears tuned, because sometime soon she's going to tell you off, saying, "I told you this morning, didn't you hear me? Get your ears washed out!"
And that was something she said from fifty paces away, and you were on the phone at the time and trying to answer the doorbell!
