Foreigners arrested for trying to spread Christianity in Libya

Four foreigners have been arrested in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on suspicion of being Christian missionaries and printing books about Christianity, a security official said on Saturday.

"They were arrested on Tuesday at a publishing house where they were printing thousands of books that called for conversion to Christianity," security official Hussein Bin Hmeid said.

"Proselytizing is forbidden in Libya. We are a 100 percent Muslim country and this kind of action affects our national security." ...

congratulations again, western church for participating in the persecution of your own brethren. good job "saving" the ind nation under gadd by blocking men from protecting their villages as MB came sweeping through. and it continues on through Af. rest assure, the UN will be there on the other side to "pick up the pieces".

Actually that is not true. Besides the RCC Libya has Greek Orthodox Church, Coptic Orthodox Church, Anglican Church,Union Church.

Perhaps like the situation in Iraq, the churches had an easier time of it under Gadaffi?
