Texas Senator Goes on Attack and Raises Bipartisan Hackles
As the Senate edged toward a divisive filibuster vote on Chuck Hagel’s nomination to be defense secretary, Senator Ted Cruz, Republican of Texas, sat silent and satisfied in the corner of the chamber — his voice lost to laryngitis — as he absorbed what he had wrought in his mere seven weeks of Senate service.
Mr. Hagel, a former senator from Mr. Cruz’s own party, was about to be the victim of the first filibuster of a nominee to lead the Pentagon. The blockade was due in no small part to the very junior senator’s relentless pursuit of speeches, financial records or any other documents with Mr. Hagel’s name on them going back at least five years. Some Republicans praised the work of the brash newcomer, but others joined Democrats in saying that Mr. Cruz had gone too far.
Without naming names, Senator Barbara Boxer, Democrat of California, offered a biting label for the Texan’s accusatory...
Marty, it sounds like he's preaching to the choir! I at least like the summary to the sermon. For a person whose both sides of his family has been Protestant since the Reformation, I really don't hold personal animosity to any Catholic, except the former Bishop of Lincoln, by the name of Flavin, I despised his guts, but on the whole I don't. Probably when I was Methodist, I was out of sync with them, because I never considered the Romish Church Christian even then, though perhaps more from upbringing than good solid knowledge that is present in such articles as, Is A Catholic Christian An Oxymoron? (PDF) or Should Roman Catholicism really be classified as a Christian religion? -- No. (PDF) and no, Are We Really Catholic Bashing? (PDF).
Except for the fact that my present Congressman followed Party/Church line on healthcare, he has said he is will to compromise on tax raises. But then while he is is in a heavily populated Catholic area, he's also in a blue part of the Nebraska.

Actually, Nebraska has imported carpet-baggers to be politicians, I'm not sure why Republicans had to import one from New Orleans to be my Congressional delegate. He is certainly a loyal son of the Romish Church (Oh, by the way I'm thoroughly against the Romish Church, remember, The Perils of Popery. So, any rabid supporter of the Romish Church, is guaranteed a vote against him from me--Hispanic or not.

So another member of the Mad Hatter's tea party strikes again?
If Cruz were a liberal, attacks on him would be held to be anti-Hispanic. We should have a balanced approach, and ask you if you'e anti-Hispanic. Are you Jim?
Your comment is hard to understand, but may I suggest never using Lindsey Graham or John McCain to make a point? Both men are warmongers, statist idolaters, crony capitalists and wafflers with respect to our greatest moral issues. Their fruits are rotten. So many of these Republicrats decimate the middle class and the institutions of the family and church.

Senator John McCain wrote: All I can say is that the appropriate way to treat Senator Hagel is to be as tough as you want to be, but don’t be disrespectful or malign his character,
