Two of Phelps’ granddaughters leave Westboro Baptist Church

Two granddaughters of Westboro Baptist Church firebrand Fred Phelps have split with the Topeka-based congregation, indicating their views have evolved and they now regret the pain they have caused others.

One of them, 27-year-old Megan Phelps-Roper, had been a highly visible member of the church who spoke to media outlets and spread its message via Twitter.

She and a younger sister, Grace Phelps-Roper, in November left the congregation known for its anti-gay stance and for picketing funerals of fallen soldiers and others. ...

Chris, I'm not sure if these women became more liberal or not, but a church isn't a clan meeting.
God's Church is Cross-Cultural
and not just the members of one family.

What I seem to read about Westburo, there's no forgiveness for a homosexual--even if he renounces his life of sin? Now, during the political season I had to remind Republicans there is a verse 10 to this set of verses, and apparently someone has to point out to the Westburo group there is also a verse 11!

1 Corinthians 6
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.---NASB

Westboro baptist church, no closer to heaven than the devil himself . God have mercy upon those people, open their eyes to your truths.

...Steve Drain, a spokesman for the church, said in an interview Wednesday that the sisters had rejected the Lord.

...If they continue with the position that they have, those two girls, yeah, they’re going to hell.”

Sounds like there is a lot of love and concern within this church. I guess it only lasts as long as they are receiving your tithes. Kind of reminds me of the one true church attitude...once you leave, you're damned.

I liked most of what the girls had to say but they also mentioned that they didn't like the churches anti-gay stance as well which made me think they had become a bit liberal.
