Boy Scouts close to ending ban on gay members, leaders
The Boy Scouts of America, one of the nation’s largest private youth organizations, is actively considering an end to its decades-long policy of banning gay scouts or scout leaders, according to scouting officials and outsiders familiar with internal discussions.
If adopted by the organization’s board of directors, it would represent a profound change on an issue that has been highly controversial -- one that even went to the US Supreme Court. The new policy, now under discussion, would eliminate the ban from the national organization’s rules, leaving local sponsoring organizations free to decide for themselves whether to admit gay scouts.
“The chartered organizations that oversee and deliver scouting would accept membership and select leaders consistent with their organization’s mission, principles or religious beliefs,” according to Deron Smith, a spokesman for the Boy Scouts’ national...

It's obvious from the article that the money is main factor in this forthcoming decision. The issue for the leadership is not values. They will decide based on when they lose more support: when they retain the ban or drop it.

I was assuming the God of the Bible as far as the children are concerned. I'm not aware of the contents of the scouts handbook...what god then are they speaking of? Have all references to anything Christian been removed, other than the mention of god in their pledge? I'm asking because you seem to know more than I do about the organization. This is about allowing the homosexual community to infiltrate and distribute their infection amongst boys who are learning to tie knots and use the bow and arrow...whether God is their primary focus or not.
Christopher: Whose God and what morality is pledged to? It's not about feeling comfotable dressing. If they had locked individual stalls, would that make everything fine. It's about having and teaching a foundation to these so-called scout morals. The old scout handbooks used to do it. Now they have been scrubbed clean and we are seeing some of the rotten fruit.
The cub scout pledge includes the promises to honor God and uphold morality so I understand why they don't want to give in to the "new normal" and they should not be forced to. Here's how I also see it though: these kids regularly dress and undress in front of each other while staying in tents, cabins, etc. They will also take group showers at other various outings, etc. While anyone can be secretly gay, I sure wouldn't be comfortable knowing that there were open and proud gays right in my tent, cabin, etc, where I had no choice but to change, etc, in front of them.
Bro James, I have an even better idea. Let's stop supporting a group who clearly has no fear of the Lord and instead start a Keepers of the Faith group, ie a Christian boy scouts built on God's Word. Then they will have fun in the outdoors bur more importanty be nurtured on God's word.
If this law passes , I'm gonna plead with my sister in law to stop letting her son, my nephew continue participating in Boy Scouts . It's getting ridiculous now with all this pro gay stuff .

I heard on the radio that this would not happen because many churches, even some rather conservative ones have scout troops. I would think even some of the more liberal churches may dump the scouts if the national organization allows this to happen. Indian Hills Community Church has no scouting program, but it does have Awana, q.v., Five Reasons Why Awana Training is Worth Your Time.
But Boy Scouts have been a great program, so one hopes they don't adopt this evil idea.

According to the Word and the Law of God this action will DEFILE the scouts.
"Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
24 DEFILE not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are DEFILED which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is DEFILED: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants."
And lets not forget the WRATH of God for such an unnatural sin. "Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:"
Teaching the scouts to ditch the Bible and keep the sin will send them to hell and damnation.
I will be taking a stand and not allowing homo boys or leaders in our troop. As a father i promise to protect my boys from the perverted evil lusts of these God hating homo pedophiles!!
