Horrific Reports of People Cooking & Eating Their Children — and Digging Up Corpses — Come Amid NKorean Famine

While it’s certainly not the first allegation of cannibalism to come from North Korea, it’s equally as disturbing as those that preceded it. Troubling reports of a rise in starvation — and cannibalism — have emerged inside of a nation that continues to be intensely-secretive and shut off from the wider global community. According to an independent outlet called Asia Press, North Koreans are so desperate that they are increasingly turning to corpses and even murdering their own children for food.

One man allegedly dug up his grandchild’s corpse and ate it. Another purportedly killed and boiled his child for food. Of late, yet another individual has reportedly been executed for killing two of his children for the same purposes.

“In my village in May a man who killed his own two children and tried to eat them was executed by a firing squad,” one informant said of the latter incident. ...

Lamentations 4
9 Better are those slain with the sword Than those slain with hunger; For they pine away, being stricken For lack of the fruits of the field.
10 The hands of compassionate women Boiled their own children; They became food for them Because of the destruction of the daughter of my people.---NASB

Truely sad, we couldn't have freed both Koreas during the Korean War.

Hello Elise ,
I so agree with the things you posted.
The LORD convicted me of my murmurings
And I spent a time in repentance and thanksgiving to HIM yesterday.
Btw I was born in n.ireland, co. Antrim.
Your sister in CHRIST.

Yes Christopher you are so right, we have everything in abundance. In bygone days were i live ( outer Hebrides Scotland ) the Lords people looked to Him in times of shortages and were never left without, sometime just getting what was needed for that time and no more but how thankful they were to Him, now that we have so much it's as if the Lord is not needed.

Elise from Scotland writes:
This article makes me think of how ungrateful we are in this country, cupboards, fridges, freezers full of food and still we complain about something not worth anything.

Hi Elise...I think of these things often as well. We have such an over abundance of everything we could possibly need. I consider the vast quantities of food we throw out when we are full, water that we can drink at our leisure, the warm, comfortable beds that wait for us each night, the comfortable shelters that we have to call home, the variety of clothing and shoes that we can take our pick from to wear each day, and all of the other luxuries that are too numerable to list.
We have it so incredibly good yet tend to complain over the most trivial of things because we have always lived so spoiled; oblivious and out of touch with thw way of life that many have to endure.

Man, I felt like vomiting while reading this article. I didn't know things like this
were going on outside of cannibal tribes
that might still be dug in deep and far away from civilization.
Wait-mass murder in North Korea? Don't they have the strictest gun contol laws, like any good communist dictatorship? But everyone knows mass murder only happens in the USA. Of course the killer likely didn't use a gun, but then everyone knows its the availability of guns that causes mass murder, right? I hope this event doesn't do too much mental damage to the gun control crowd.

The stove-in-a-can advertisement in the midst of the article is sick beyond belief.
