Teacher Ordered to Cleanse Christianity From Classroom Under Threat of Termination Files Suit
A teacher that was ordered to cleanse Christianity from her classroom under threat of termination has filed a lawsuit in federal court to challenge what she believes in an unconstitutional mandate.
Joelle Silver works as a high school teacher for the Cheektowaga Central School District near Buffalo, and is a born again Christian. In June of last year, Silver received a letter from the district, signed by the superintendent, commanding her to keep religion out of the classroom.
One of the items that she was told to remove was a poster that quoted from 1 Corinthians 6:13-14: “Be on guard. Stand true to what you believe. Be courageous. Be strong. And everything you do must be done in love.” Silver was also mandated to take down a printout of a quote from former President Ronald Reagan, which read, “Without God there is no virtue because there is no prompting of the conscience . … Without God...

I wholeheartedly agree, The Truth is in the Scriptures, or said another way, Scripture is the Truth, Revelation by God Himself to us.
Question: Will we listen? Will we believe what He says? Will we be obedient to His Word? Or hypocritically tell God what His Word means?
Enough of that for the moment, I want to recommend a book, not a perfect book but a hugely good one for genuine born again Christians to prayerfully read and thoroughly check out with Scripture and treasure the Truth God would show us in His Word in such a study, and more importantly by His grace live out.

"If you ever desire to become a better son, brother, friend, husband, or father, then a re-examination of God’s definition of manhood is absolutely vital. Through the Bible, God reveals that certain characteristics must come in pairs. In order to become a man of God, these characteristics must balance each other out: identity must be attached to integrity … strength must be balanced by wisdom … humility becomes weakness, unless followed by a willingness to learn from mistakes … and both honor and protection must walk hand in hand.
What preacher has any hellfire and damnation left in the belly? It's like Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and Toto all lie overcome in the poppy field. Who's not sleepwalking in pulpit or pew?

I rather think it is "wussification" of our pews instead, for they are supposed to hold church gov't accountable. In my experience, church members complain endlessly about abuses of power in Washington, yet have no spine or discernment when the man behind the pulpit plays the tyrant.

On the one hand too much wussification, and, on the other hand too much false backbone, false machismo, overarching stridency and unbiblical authoritarianism.
May God send undershepherds who would follow the pattern and example of the shepherd.
Mike, point taken. The Federal government has no legal right to have anything to do with public school, except by a laughable stretching of the commerce clause. It's a state government issue.
Yes, the first amendment is a restriction on government, but the public schools are government institutions, albeit illegally so.
If we're gonna fight government encroachment, let's be fair about it.
The first amendment has been twisted by the federal court system. The prohibition is not on the people, it is on the government. There is no separation of church and state clause, there is only a restriction on the power of the federal government to infringed on the rights already possessed by the individual. The state is pushing the religion of secular humanism that man is the measure of all things. They are trying to teach there are no absolutes EXCEPT you absolutely cannot practice your Christianity. This is a sign of the end times when men who are professing themselves to be wise are become fools exchanging the truth of God for a lie.

CIP If there was a 'crime', a conspiracy of Satan, it began before the Feminist Movement in the 60s or 70s, IMHO in things like the BGEA's non-judgmental, inclusive, ecumenical crusades bringing tares into the church among the wheat giving false teachers false credibility and purging churches of those daring to warn people about them.

It's NYS taxes, not Fed. That being said, I don't see Congress making any law regarding an establishment of a religion in what the teacher is doing.

Mrs B I appreciate your post.
IMHO it is the "wussification" of our pulpits that lies at the heart of the problem.
Where is the Fear of God in our pastors? Where is the Holiness of God in their (I hate to use the word) preaching? Where is the desperate prayer meetings in our churches of those professing to be born again for the Mercy of God, both for our own wretched selves and the lost we know, love, are friends with, or even who are complete strangers to us that God would save them?
AND where are the saints standing up for one another in matters like this news thread.
I think I'll go do some repenting and seeking the Lord what I should be doing and His wisdom and grace to do it.
Unprofitable servant, like your comment because it is a true comment. I couldn't agree more with you. Some people would bash me for what I wrote. But I'm radical because I'm tired of the powers that be enforcing their anti Christ ways upon me. America is far from God , politically correct, hangs on big mouth bill mahers every word, and extremely light sensitive, like effeminately sensitive and I'm tired of it. We need to wake up as Christians and Americans .
